Questions & Answers

How can you set up your mobile phone? Do you need an app?

This is not true for you. It is hidden how to get directly to the router page without a phone, but it can be done. There will be a page that lets you download apps after going to the IP address of the router. It is not necessary to click the app buttons, but the photograph of the phone. If you do this, you will be directed to the usual setup page without any Technical support revealed this to me while on the phone.

In what form does it have a processor?

The 1 is on it The processor is quad-core and runs at 8 GHz.

Is this made in the United States?

In the US, the product is designed, and in China, it is assembled.

I think it is a huge waste of time to redirect the apps. Is it possible to work around this?

It seems that what is meant by this is the constant use of the mobile application rather than the desktop version. You can access the router directly via the IP address. The IP address of the router can be found via a After viewing the download page for the mobile app, click the "Continue to Linksys Smart Wi-Fi" button The bottom right of the page contains the "Fi" link. When you arrive at the web application, you can start using it immediately. The download does not need to be performed.

There is no point in buying it
3/5

It appears it is made of high quality, and it is a bit heavy, but it seems to be a bit heavy. Please read this
In a nutshell It takes me a while to set up my Linksys Velop network, so I have set up the router, the main router, and then I added the first node. There are no issues with the network at the moment, and everything seems to be working smoothly. My observation is that the device is strong and reliable, however I am experiencing intermittent signal problems on iOS devices. Not knowing why this is happening, I did not think there was a problem. The Linksys support team should be able to handle Although there may be a slight difference in coverage between this and Velop, I can suggest that the adjustable antennas make it possible to customize the signal depending on the settings. It's always frustrating to use the Linksys app. With my screen reader, this does not work well for me as I am blind. In LinkSys' view, this is not something that should be corrected, and they do not In an update to my initial review, after using for several days, I would suggest that you do not buy this router, since performance and signal problems this router experiences are serious. The router was put at the center of the main node, and everything else was left as is. Due to signal loss, the secondary node began experiencing a great deal of trouble. It seems that the signal from the main node does not arrive correctly. I tried everything I could to correct this, but couldn't fix it. As for the network, I've re-established the network to its previous state, and everything is running smoothly now. I regret buying this router - it adds nothing to the network, but it creates In a nutshell In a nutshell Please keep me informed if you find any new information.

The solution won't be suitable for you if you want the entire list of features, especially for a USB hard drive
3/5

The router was easy to setup and is a good buy. We bought it to replace an Apple AirPort Extreme that had a USB hard drive attached to it that provided access to photos, movies, and music. Because of its specifications, the MR8300 sounded like an ideal replacement because of its USB port for file storage support, its great speeds for 4K HD TV, and its We were unsure of coverage in our new two story home because we did not know how much it would cost. I got the unit and it does not support a USB hard drive at this time. I worked with tech support, and they showed me a link where it says on their website that the port is not yet supported. In addition, reading between the lines of how tech works seems to indicate. The fact that support may never be provided explains the situation. I find it odd that they can promote a product that says it supports something while not actually supporting it. It's probably best to be careful. The situation is so complicated, even their online statements are hard to understand In the manual, it states that the USB port is there to store files and that the firmware may need to be updated. There is no guarantee it will be supported. It was a very disappointing experience.

It's easy to set up, but a bit tricky to configure at the advanced level
5/5

The Linksys MR8300 router I got this week is great. All went well with the setup, according to The router must be attached to the cable modem and powered on after installing the mobile app (in my case on an iPhone). The app will be available when the purple light appears. Use it to configure your device whenever it appears. After the setup is complete, the light turns blue and the device is ready to use. Having basic setup available is great if you just need to do a few things. However, if you wish to configure the LAN more specifically, as well as disable DHCP and DNS servers (my Mac server provides DHCP and DNS for the local network) or configure wireless access points You have to figure out where the Wi-Fi channels are and other features. Through the mobile app, I could not find a way to accomplish this. I discovered a few more options after logging in to the web management interface. A "CA" link was unavailable but I was able to access the rest of the options by clicking on an undocumented "CA" link on the lower right corner of the web interface. Yet, even with this, I cannot believe that certain things can be achieved. The router, for example, would automatically reroute after you set it to this Find the best WiFi in your area When I tried to view the available Wi-Fi channels, there was no display that showed me what channels I could do a diagnostic report, but it would only show me the configuration ("auto"), and not operational values. Also, there aren't as many status indicators as I'd like. Item 1). There would be no harm in adding a few more lights here to indicate the status of the links and activities on the various interfaces. Finally, I dislike the fact that you need to set up a Linksys account (on their server) and download a mobile app to do the initial setup. With my older routers, I was able to initially configure the router by using the web interface, which provided default passwords and IP addresses. As far as functionality is concerned, it should be similar to the previous one. All of this won't affect actual performance, just bringing it into focus. Everything seems to be working and it does everything I'm trying to do after getting everything configured and running. It would be nice if there was a truly advanced configuration option so a person like me (who has designed and programmed high-end Its setup and management interfaces are only three stars, but the router itself is five stars.

App that makes dumb programming decisions The interface is not linked to a web page
3/5

That might be why I'm having problems. I'm a network engineer. CONFIGURATION OF THIS ROUTER IS NOT possible directly through the router. You have no other choice but to use dumbed-down terminology You can download a smartphone app for down. It is not possible to create an open guest SSID, or to block sites such as Netflix, etc, without first identifying the particular device to use filters on. My mind is not sure who invented this interface, but I'm not going to put up with it any longer. There will be no more of it today,.

I had a fantastic Internet connection
5/5

A great coverage area for a whole home wireless network. A feature that I like about the unit is that it has mesh capabilities. You can no longer use a range extender that requires you to broadcast your SID separately between the extender and your main router. In our 2400 square feet of living space, I was expecting to have to buy multiple access points to make the whole house wireless. We originally hoped to cover a 2700 sq. ft. home but ended up using only one unit to cover the entire house! There is great signal throughout the entire house, even where the unit is mounted in a closet. There is a possibility that I may purchase a couple of the additional access points just so that I can get a better signal on the porch and on the additional acre Nevertheless, the signal around the outside of the house is sufficient for now. I did give it 3 stars on its user interface since it required me to use my smart phone to perform the initial setup, and I am an old IT professional who would prefer to do the initial setup from a WEB GUI interface on.
