This came up while I was looking for a Sapphire Wifi. I didn't realize they were completely different products because they looked identical. I needed Wifi in Kuwait, and I thought I was getting a good deal when I found this for more than $30 less than the local price. This is not the same as a Sapphire, despite their similar appearances, and does not provide services in Kuwait or Iraq. Make sure you understand the differences by looking over the data coverage map on the website. Simply because it does not meet my requirements, I am returning.
Simple to work with! Setup is a breeze - Before leaving on your trip, make sure you register the device and set up your account, as it must be registered in order to function. It only took a few minutes for our computer to start up after we arrived in Japan, and we were online in no time! That's all there is to it! It was incredibly simple to top up our data when we ran out. This is a fantastic device that we will take with us when we travel internationally.
I'd completely forgotten about them at this point. This is my third device, and my friends and family are begging me to buy more. It worked for my friends and family in Brazil, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, and China, and we'll continue to travel! Do not believe anyone who claims that traffic is overused or manipulated - This is something that can happen if you don't know how to avoid being stuck in traffic! Turn off all background content refreshes, iCloud or other picture sharing, and take steps to avoid traffic congestion rather than blaming the provider. For instance, if you synchronize 500 MB files in Dropbox or something similar in the background. It is strongly advised. I wish Glocalme would cover the entire world because there are still countries to add, and I also wish they would send out email announcements to customers when new countries or packages are added.
It does not work with U. AT&T LTE. I've done this with GLocalMe's cloud data, and I always end up with a U. It has a data SIM in it, and if I'm going to be in a country for a few weeks, I usually buy a local SIM instead of GLocalMe data because it's usually cheaper. br>br>I am completely smitten with this device. I'm currently in a cabin on a U. S. military base. There is no WiFi in a state park, but AT&T provides it. The signal on T is strong. I've been using an AT for the entire day. In the GLocalMe, there is a T data card. In India and the United States, I've used it. I'm not sure where else I'm supposed to be. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After doing a lot of research, I decided to go to the AT. SIM cards must be exchanged at the T store. playing cards, and conversing with AT T Customer Support, I discovered from AT&T. This device is listed as 'Not Compatible' with AT&T, according to T Customer Support. LTE network operated by T. With an AT&T SIM card, it connects fine over 3G. If you really need LTE in the United States, you'll need a T sim card. , this is not the right product, and I'm now using another device to get LTE in the United States. It doesn't support channels 4 and 17, the main AT&T channels, which isn't what I had hoped for. T U. Channels for 4G LTE br>br>I still like and use this product in other countries, but as a U. S. citizen, I'm not so sure. AT& Customer T. This is not the right device. br>br>This is far superior to any regular 'dongle' in that it allows you to connect to the GLocalMe data right away, before you get around to getting a local SIM if you are staying for an extended period of time.
BUY THIS UNTRUSTWORTHY PIECE OF JUNK AT YOUR OWN RISK. br>br>When I first bought it, I was perplexed because all of the reviews were either positive or negative, with nothing in between. br>br>Well, that depends on where you're going to use it. It works great in some countries where the company has a reliable partner, but it fails miserably in others where the data connection is poor and you are charged for every retry, so your bad connection uses up your data four or five times as quickly. br>br>In Amsterdam, I had two days of excellent service, then was randomly assigned to a bad partner on the third day, and finally I made a horribly expensive roaming call to the United States. The device's obnoxious error messages were useless. br>br>I will never trust this device again; it was a complete waste of money and valuable travel time. (I was two days past the return window when I returned home from my trip; otherwise, I would have returned it for a refund. ).
This hotspot was purchased for international travel and performed admirably. The most important thing to remember is that all devices connected to the hotspot must have background data restrictions enabled. Even when the hotspot was on all day and I was only using it for internet communication, I used less than 100MB/day with background data turned off. But there was one day when I burned through my entire 1GB package in eight hours, either because my data restriction was turned off or because I had someone else connected longer than I was aware. The second most important thing to know is that customer service is terrible. I purchased a Europe package ahead of time, only to discover that it immediately began counting down the days remaining in the package, despite the terms of service stating that it would begin counting down once activated in the destination country. Because I couldn't get Support to read their own terms, I decided to cancel the order. After a month, I discovered that no refund had been applied to my account. This is a battle I'm still having with them. In the end, the device performs admirably and is reasonably priced, but if you require assistance, you are unlikely to receive it.
It was purchased in preparation for a trip to China and Russia. I tried it before leaving the US and it seemed to work fine. When I arrived in China, it worked for about 10 minutes before giving me the "signal interference" warning for the rest of my trip. I tried several times to reset it. I attempted to contact their customer service department but received no response. There is no manual except for instructions on how to turn it on, off, and reset it. My father was in the hospital while I was out of the country, so I needed this device to function properly.
