Questions & Answers

This appears to be an 802 device. What do you think about 11ac? In spite of the name implying it, this is not listed in the field for wireless compatibility. ?

Here's the 802, just so you know. In the 5 GHz band, 11ac is used. Typically, one means the other when talking about the 8GHz band. They are not exactly the same, but in the field of wireless networking, they are usually used interchangeably.

Can it act as an SMB(Samba) server over its USB port?

It is true. The answer is yes. You will be able to share a USB disk automatically with your LAN network when you plug it in.

Could this be faster / more efficient than the Ar300m?

It makes sense that wireless speed would be faster. A similar CPU is installed on both computers.

Are you able to use Tor with it?

I don't have one There will be more Tor firmware available later for this device.

PERIOD, if you need a Micro Router with AP Extender, VPN access, 5GHz / and physical ports, this is the best one
5/5

Several of you seen the article that explained all the speed issues with this modem as well as the fact you could get a better router for the price you paid. In order to watch Netflix over the VPN, good luck because Netflix has banned all VPNs no matter how fast your connection is. In terms of VPN speed, it is roughly seven times faster than the industry average The quality and size of 9 MB isn't bad at all considering the power and size of this network. Most hotel networks can't even handle 10 MBs and no RV park can exceed 3 MBs. I would like to point out that there is no router this size with the level of functionality and options that this one has. By reprogramming the side switch, the VPN could be enabled or disabled. As a result, I made it so that when the VPN is on, the power LED is on, and when the VPN is off, the power LED is This router gives me such an incredible amount of control, and I adore This is by far the best micro router with VPN support that you can get on a USB drive. This is the best one I've used. I've owned and used about 5 different ones, and none of them worked as well You can actually pull a sub if you want, by using a micro router. A Micro Router / AP Extender / VPN / 5GHZ / Physical ports and a full Power Supply at 5V are the only options if you are installing in an RV or hotel and you want to keep your footprint and power consumption as low as possible. There is no middle ground when it comes to your post since it makes it seem like the router is way overpriced and not worth it. I spent way to much time trying to find a better option because of his post and occasionally ended up back to this device after considering all the features.

I have a newer, upgraded version of this Router for Internet access on the go
5/5

I've been surprised by how useful and capable they are. There are only a few of them. It is really handy to have an internet router. An extremely powerful, configurable, small, and useful tool. As I carry multiple devices and computers, I mostly use it in WISP mode, since I can hook it up to a router, then connect to wifi using that router, then connect the multiple devices to the wireless "bubble" created by it. This enables me to setting up a small, secure network on which my portable work environment can share files. Coffee shops, coworking spaces, and client sites will all find it useful. It is possible to fly even on a plane. The WISP mode requires you to start it up, connect to it through a web browser, then connect to a wireless network through its web interface. When you access a portal page on the network, it passes through that and you sign in from your device. After doing that, everything connected to that network can connect to it. It essentially connects to wifi, then makes that network available over a new wifi network (as a hotspot), allowing you to securely access it. These devices run OpenWRT and have some basic UIs, but they also have Advanced Mode, where you can get to the heart of the device.

In Advanced Mode, you can choose from a wide range of modules to install. I would say that using this thing, knowing a little bit about networking is helpful. Although the UI is good, using such a device and extracting its maximum value requires a different degree of proficiency. The GL-100 is highly recommended, but I highly recommend it in addition to this one A 300M AR300. In addition to VPN, they also support HTTPS You can punch out through your OpenVPN company of choice if you're on a network you don't trust not to be spied upon (I use Private Internet Access, and it has worked flawlessly once I acquired a working connection - thanks, Private Internet Access! A feat of bravery that isn't for the weak). This is a 5 star review!.

Greetings to all RV'ers & travelers A fantastic router that you can carry in the palm of your hand
4/5

This itty-bitty package landed in our inbox This is a small router that we use with a teardrop trailer (nüCamp T @ B This device supports WISP, which enables us to connect to wireless networks at RV parks, hotels, and so on If you wish to create private networks for other public spots, you can do that too. Our teardrop trailer can connect to our private network and provide chromecast TV, chromecast audio and Google Assistant access to public WiFi while offering chromecast TV and Chromecast audio controlled by Google Assistant on the Android device. This ensures that our network remains isolated from the other guests, while still providing us with access to the internet through a networked intranet. The following are some tips If you decide to update the firmware wirelessly, make sure you use In your example, the wireless reconnection bricked the device. I was able to resolve easily enough (hard resets would not recover firmware) by connecting an Ethernet adapter to my computer and running a length of Ethernet cable to the router's LAN port. This is a link to the Internet). It took a few hiccups, but now the router is running a google chromecast network for audio and TV while also serving three iPhones, a kindle fire, a couple of chromebooks, and a MacBook. We would prefer to be on site without shore if at all possible By connecting one of the built-in charging ports to the teardrop trailer's DC batteries, we can power the router (AC).

A wonderful travel router that comes with OpenVPN pre-installed USB batteries can be used to power the device
5/5

When heading to China, she was very concerned that her computer might be compromised. When I am traveling, I want to have a router loaded with OpenVPN so that I can use my VPN subscription. Searches on Google and the internet didn't turn up many choices, but I found this one on Amazon and thought it would be worth a shot. In addition to the good price, it came with an open source DD-WRT driver There is a preinstalled version of WRT and openVPN. There is a caveat to using this tool, as it requires some basic network security knowledge and is not recommended for those who typically can't manage these settings independently. I had no problems with the device. Getting the system up and running was easy The software allows me to set up my third party VPN account. Users of IOS operating systems with difficulties trying to access public WiFi won't have such problems when using this router. It also resolves the IOS problem of not getting the login page of public WiFi to display. The bonus came as a total surprise. A major surprise was the fact that this router could be powered by a micro-USB cable A USB port is a power source. You do not need to supply it with its own As a result of this, you can use it without an outlet since it runs on a standard USB power supply. I started looking for a travel router, I was hoping to find one that could be powered by batteries There is no travel router capable of running OpenVPN, but you can get it through your ISP. I still prefer this one, however, since it is much smaller in size than the battery-powered travel router and allows me to run it easily off a usb battery pack when needed. While traveling, I always have a few battery packs with me, so I can have both options with me at once.
