Make sure the connector for the USB c port is the right one before connecting it to As soon as I received it, my Macbook Pro did not immediately recognize it as a USB drive. An inside corner of the USB C connector had some metal debris attached to it. After I pulled it out, I found it. There does not appear to be any proper cutting or shaping of the metal component of the connector. The debris was removed, the adapter was plugged in again, and the fault was discovered. Although I have removed the debris, the region I removed is still a little rough, so it will be returned. The only hope I have is that the metal debris did not damage the usb c port on my Macbook Pro when I A quick update My new adapter, which Lention sent me, was well constructed and I have been able to use it at Gigabit Ethernet speeds. My internet connection is Gigabit and I have not been able to get over 300mbps of transfer on this device. I then bought a device from a different vendor (Uni) and I was able to get over Gigabit capability. As such, this device does not function as advertised and does not have the capacity for Gigabit transfers. I urge you to stay.

Using this with my new MacBook Pro was essential. Besides being very simple, it can really be plugged in and played with. Tests for speed were performed, and all was in order. It took me a few minutes to do this. I particularly like the looks of this one. It is very lightweight. It is also a very reasonable price. I love it. I do not think I need to add anything more about this adapter. It's so simple yet so very important!.

An Ethernet adapter was necessary for my Ultrabook which does not have a port for one but has a USB type port. Using a USB type port over a C port is much more reliable, so I tried this product. Easy installation on Windows 10 and worked perfectly. Not tried it yet on Ubuntu, but I would assume it will work. Also, this adapter works with majority of Android devices that have a c type USB port. In this generation, this will be very useful if your doing Microsoft's Xcloud or Google Stadia.
