In my case, I have gigabit internet that works perfectly on a Windows Computer. I bought this adapter for my MacBook and it only went up to 300Mbps despite the network settings set for a maximum of The hardware report shows a three in my USB ports so I check my USB ports to confirm they are working. With a USB2 speed connection, there is only one port. This product was marketed in a misleading manner, and it was falsely advertised as supporting 3. I am shocked at the way it was marketed. For 1000Mbps, one USB port is sufficient.

The aluminum case makes this device extremely lightweight and compact. It is also extremely attractive. My experience has shown that some other units can get exceptionally hot when encased in plastic. It's likely that the aluminum allows the device to cool more quickly, and in heavy use, it only gets warm enough to be comfortable. This should result in a longer lifespan for the item.
