The review of my product appears to be grouped with those of similar products, so let me state that I am reviewing the Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem with two lines of telephone support purchased from Amazon for As it turns out, there are other "AC1900" router models available, and this is not among In addition to this, I bought it to replace the WiFi cable modem that I was paying $10 per month in rent to Comcast for. There is no guarantee that I will see a return on investment for 28 months. This should be okay, assuming that my new modem continues to function for at least 2 more Getting started was easy, and after establishing my own SSID(s) and password, I called Comcast. A nice Comcast/Xfinity lady who spoke almost-good English got my internet and voice telephone working straightaway - thanks to her! Her modem finally responded after several attempts, but she had to send multiple signals. It has been working fine since then. I was surprised to discover that I have TWO WiFi connections in my house now - that's a first for me. Here are two of them. I have a 4 GHz signal shaped like the one I had with my Comcast-provided modem, along with a new 5 GHz signal. An 0 GHz signal is present. The printer and the Oppo BluRay require the older version 2 for some of my WiFi devices (printer). There are some devices that like the 5GHz signal (iPhone, Apple TV, and an older Android Nexus tablet running Nougat) while others like the faster 4GHz signal. An 0 GHz signal is present. My new cable modem is working just fine, and even though I have only had it for a week, I have no complaints. It is relatively easy to install and your Comcast bill will be lower. It is a review of NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Wireless Cable Modem Router with 2 USB ports (C7100V) Voice Lines for XFINITY. I have Comcast Blast internet service that gets me up to 150 Mbps (as measured by speedtest). Even using WIRED connections, I found that browsing the web (even when I was using a standard connection) was TEDIOUS - with a new page typically taking 2 minutes to load It takes 4 seconds to paint a wall fully - who has the time? fell into the trap of assuming that that was all the performance would be like in 2017 ("zzzzzzzzzzzz"), and when I ordered this modem, it never occurred to me that it would improve the performance of my web experience over wired Oh boy, did I make a mistake. My modem was up and running as soon as I got it As soon as we got up and running, the difference was immediately apparent. The website is now displayed just as it appears on TV - as soon as it loads! There are now 280+ downloads appearing on Speedtest. net, but the difference in browsing performance seems to be proportionately much faster than what that figure would suggest versus 150 downloads previously. Although obviously this box isn't cheap, its new speed makes me feel as if I have jumped at least 5 years ahead of what I was going to do. The following is an addition to the preceding text Although everything is still working fine, I was unable to access Comcast's 'Stream TV' service Their system responded that I was not connected to my home network, and didn't show some of my TV channels. As a result, I had to contact Comcast (yuck! their time telling them they had Eventually, they accomplished their goal, and the problem was solved. It's good to know that the web might not be sucky anymore, but Comcast seems to be.

There are some advantages to owning this modem. If you have the Comcast triple play with voice, stop reading and buy it right now. By buying this, I was able to save myself $10 a month for the rental fee of the antiquated Arris modem we were given when we first got the triple play service. If it had been released sooner, I would have taken advantage of it. There was a maximum download speed of 75 Mbps, and a maximum upload speed of 10 Mbps for our connection. If it was 3 for instance, I was never able to get any more than 32 Mbps with the Arris My bandwidth would frequently reach 35 Mbps when I woke up at 00 am. I began testing speed from various sources immediately after getting this installed on my computer and on my I am only able to reach 90 Mbps using this modem. The desktop application AND the mobile app are both available to me. A few pros and cons can be found below. PROS - Easy to configure and use Installing the system is easy It is a very simple process to install and activate. Easily replace your Arris cable modem with this one, just unplug the old one. There are a few more steps to activating, but it's still very straightforward. Your router should be accessed by typing 192. 168. 1. 1 into your browser. When you continue with Step 1, you will be automatically redirected to the CComcast activation website. At that point, you will only need to click a few more times until your account is active. Unless you're like me and want to take 25 of your kids' 27 devices with you, then you can go on While your own devices will still run at 5 Ghz, you can get blazing speeds on your 4Ghz leg. The CON is You will notice that it does not mention "CONS", just one con. The price of the product is There is a price tag on this thing. Despite that, it does provide a good performance. Wouldn't it be better if I didn't have to spend $300 that I won't get back for It is true that I would do it all over again if I had to, based only Eventually, I will break even, considering that Comcast is the only cable provider in my area, so I wouldn't consider changing anytime soon. And in just 30 months, I will have made it back. A difficult pill to swallow at first, but it will get easier with time.
