The effect is great! Since the tech is so obsolete, I was doubtful that this would actually work, It was easy to retrieve data from Zip disks I had from the 90s and beyond using this device

I was able to use it on MacOS Mojave just fine. Many thanks to you for creating these tools for those of us who still need to use.

There was a lesson to be learned
3/5

I could only get it to work for A waste of money in one sense, but in the process I found that most of the discs I have held onto for the past 10 years or so are still good. Disks that are not readable or usable by Windows software are backed up discs. Thank you anyway for the Zip Drive, I threw it away as a relic of the past. I'm happy to know they're no longer available.

If Linux is used You need to be an expert to use these features The process was a little confusing at first, but I soon learned how to do it

There are two situations in which you can encounter a seriously annoying error when you try If a disk is bad, or if you clicked on the mounted drive (option 2). It is not advisable to click on the mounted drive since that is just a reference to the fact that the drive has been mounted. Upon clicking the link a second entry will appear This shows you the volume label of the media that you have inserted into that drive. Just use that to open it. If the mounted drive entry appears, do not click on it It means that the disk is bad if you click on the volume label but receive an error message. It is important to realize that a bad disk does not necessarily mean it is "totally unreachable," just as a bad hard drive does not necessarily mean it is. In some cases, zip disks will only work on specific operating systems, while others will not As soon as it begins to malfunction. In addition to your file system, it also depends on how you use it. Format the zip disk using FAT16 or FAT32 if it is formatted in either of these formats Any OS should be able to read it fine. If it is in NTFS, then it will be fine If you wish to use Microsoft Windows (and unix, linux, etc distros which correctly use the NTFS driver), you must first install Microsoft Windows. You need to view this under Microsoft Windows if the document was formatted under Linux Download the EXT2FS utility by searching for it on Google or by downloading it. The following warning is given In spite of the claims that it works well under Vista, it has some major issues. You may only use Windows XP and earlier.

iOmega Disks are great, but if you have old data on them, you'll need it soon
5/5

My old one failed some time during the last half dozen moves we've made and I was glad to find one online at a decent price. I hadn't used it for years and had tried to transfer about eight disks to an SSD only to find the unit had died. A brand new one was not necessary The family pictures can be saved if only one is done. The funny thing is, a lot of folks need to transfer data off the Iomega disks anyway, so I'm doing this for them for a couple bucks and the unit will pay for itself in no time. I'm so happy!.

A CD with software was included with the drive, but it was useless

Computers with CD drives, like mine, are not as common as they used to be.

The fastest way to set up As you back up, you accelerate It includes a 250MB Zip disk! Iomega's Zip 250MB USB External Drive has a 250MB Zip disk included! The ) boasts a sleek design and not a single disappointment in performance
5/5

It's a pleasure to use for those of us with iMacs It takes just a few seconds to plug it in and start using it It's fast to back up files. The best way to move large files from place to place. There has never been a problem with using 100MB discs. A portable hard drive is in fact quite handy. Despite its light weight, it is solid and can be carried comfortably. good to see a design that complements the iMac but does not imitate it exactly. A slick, compact disk drive that stands up to the task- Taking things literally It is a system component that must be included.
