Questions & Answers

Is the SANANCE security camera system designed so that I can simply plug it in and have it work automatically or do I ?

Your system (NVR) needs to be taken into consideration. Using professional security programs like Long Plus or CST they have to ensure that the data is safe (data locking) before it can be stolen. You can use a DVR without a data lock if you have one. If everyone has access to your hard drive, they can easily access your record.

What's up with my Seagate HDD DVR that doesn't come with a port for connecting to my NVR? I really want it to connect. ?

In order to work with this type of HDD, your DVR must have an SATA connection. It will not support an IDE connection. The following is a paraphrase of the written word

Does this drive rotate at a rate of 100 revolutions per minute?

Due to the fact that the provided sended the item to me broken and without working, I did not have the chance to see this item working. I ended up losing my money on this item.

Do you know if this hdd works with the Annke NVR security system model N48paw?

Make sure you find out how much storage space the manufacturer offers before buying 4T as some only offer a computer drive that is only for surveillance purposes.

This UDM plugin is compatible with the pro version
5/5

The UDM Pro version I used it with. I love how quiet this is and how much storage it has. I was able to discover, format and configure it without any problems using UDM Pro.

I will not buy from them again! HE DIED IN JUST OVER A YEAR
3/5

The warranty is a joke. It lasted only a little over two months. It is stated on the manufacturer's warranty that it is 3 years. It's impossible for them to make a product that will last. The Segate brand should be shamed. Then you have to undergo this painful, time consuming technical support in order to claim the warranty. In order to obtain a replacement, you will have to return it to the manufacturer at your own shipping expense. OUR TIME TO SHIP IT IS 2 TO 5 DAYS, THEN WE GET TO WORK FOR ANOTHER 2 - 3 DAYS! In warranty, your drive is to be examined and the loopholes to be checked in 5 days within that time, and then if you're lucky, an additional 2 to 5 days for a replacement, and who knows how long that replacement will last. In my case, I have found this to be a low-quality video surveillance product in contrast to what was advertised by the manufacturer/seller.

I am a quiet and solid person
5/5

It was a little concerning to me to have a lower spin rate as well as a 64 MB cache in the 4TB drive I purchased. The system I have is Samsung/Wisenet with eight cameras. There were four cameras and 1 TB of storage on this system. The 1 TB was no longer enough after I added four more to the system. It was the exact same model as my 1 TB drive, so I bought it for the terabyte drive. I gave it a 3 out of 5. Unless you are using a console or even a computer, be sure that the CD drive will fit in your system before you purchase it. I believe it is important to let people know this is not a standard drive and is made for surveillance cameras and things that are accessed and In contrast to hard drives you use in your computer that have correction control, most of the drives used in surveillance systems have no In other words, once it copies the data, it does not verify whether the data was copied accurately. It is rarely a problem on a system, but it could result in data loss if the hard drive is not in good shape or the operating system is not running smoothly. For this reason, it is recommended that you purchase a surveillance hard drive, a device that has been specifically designed to run off and continue copying files without any intervention. I found a hard drive to be very efficient and, for some reason, it works more quickly than the 1 TB hard drive that came with my system. It is also quieter than the 1 TB that was supplied with it. I have a quiet fan on my DVR and the fan on my DVR makes more noise than a hard drive does. Keep in mind that the majority of DVR's are based on Linux, Windows, or their own proprietary software, so this may not be applicable to all models. It may also vary how a drive is formatted. It is in general true that most surveillance hard drives are compatible with buried systems, however you should keep in mind that your hard drive may need to be formatted either by the DVR system or externally in order to make it compatible. It seems that more people experiencing problems installing DVR hard drives do not realize that the system they are installing in has a proprietary format. This means that the drive you purchased will not be compatible. Because of that, it is important to find a hard drive that has a long track record of being compatible along with something that has been around for a while. Surveillance cameras can be costly investments for users. This is because the data on these disks is one of their main uses. It is easy to buy a DVR, and cameras are very similar across the board, but they are constantly improving. Operating systems depend on hard disks - after all, they are their bread and butter A big part of you will be your bread-and-butter. If you need the hard drive to work, you need the hard drive to work, which is just second to the cameras being of high quality because they are backed up by a high-speed internet connection The best camera can be operated by a standard or low quality hard drive, but if your phone is an older model, you'll have issues. So if you want to use the high-quality camera, go for a high-quality hard drive. The hard drive is built for surveillance systems and it has a reasonable
Overview As of now, I would highly recommend the drive. The drive was installed quickly, was able to format on my DVR without any problems, is extremely quiet, and was able to access data to copy to another hard drive or to use for fast search with no problems at all. Amazon prices vary depending on the size of the drive, but the 4 TB seemed to be about the best deal, as it was a little more expensive than the 1 2 and 3 TB, but considerably less than the 6 TB, making it the good decision and worth it. If I operate my cameras at 4K, I will have ample space for about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks of recording. You can change these factors based on whether you want to record motion or straight, and the quality of the cameras you use. Based on your setting, I would think that if you have a 1080 P camera system, you would have enough power for up to a month.

This is a great storage solution
5/5

There are eight high resolution cameras in my system. Video from an entire month and more can be viewed on this device. I have never seen a product fit so perfectly, install so easily, and offer such a high value.

On my Tivo, I hear a lot of noise
3/5

My Tivo (Roamio Plus) had a failing drive, so I bought this to replace it. luck with Seagate drives, and I'm hopeful that this one will last as well. However, I could hear the head seeking of this drive even while watching TV, and I could hear the comparatively loud noise coming from the platter rotation when the TV was I replaced the hard drive with one from Amazon, believing it to be Is it possible for a drive to be so annoying? Apparently, the replacement was a total disaster as well. I upgraded to a WD purple drive instead, and it is as quiet as the WD DVR drive in my Tivo - Six years ago, you were in a relationship. You can still buy Seagate drives for Tivo, but don't buy this class of drive for your desktop.

In the first nine months of his life, he died
3/5

Then it suddenly died without warning, so I was not familiar with its workings. According to the description on Amazon, the product comes with a 3 year limited warranty. I can't seem to find how I can contact someone to find out what steps I need to take for a warranty claim.

Making sure you are using the right tool for the job
5/5

In my experience as an IT technician, I cannot tell you how often surveillance systems fail just because they are not using the right drive. Also, a desktop hard drive or NAS used for surveillance will waste the cop's time. Have you ever tried reviewing days of video while recording simultaneously? It's not fun, and I know this because I have experienced it. In spite of this tragedy, Amazon (and Seagate) stood by their warranty despite the sudden failure of the hard drive after just two months of use. Therefore, I give this a 5 star rating. The Skyhawks have performed very well in surveillance applications overall, and I would gladly.

I am very pleased with the delivery time and the quality of the product I received This is a great price
5/5

However, some reviews claim that they are unable to get these drives to work, saying they must be initialized and formatted before installing. Because they are unformatted, you can change the format to W by clicking on the icon. It should be used in the project you tried to use it for. It is pretty common for people who are new to hard drive setup to run into this issue. My opinion of the SkyHawk Hard Drives is unanimous. As part of my growing server setup, this is my fifth server. With their ability to handle constant writing from security cameras, large file databases, and media servers, they work fast and can easily handle the demands they are subjected to. I keep purchasing more of these drives because I am so pleased with them. If on the fence about whether or not to invest the extra cash in these drives vs. some of the less expensive alternatives, just ask yourself that question. Your data is important, but how important is it? Unless you can afford to lose all your data, a Skyhawk Hard Drive is your best option. If you need this for security systems, it is the only one I have found that can handle that level of abuse after testing most other brands.
