Low failure rates, low cost, and plenty of storage

In the reviews on these server-type drives, everyone gets into the super technicals and fine points, but the bottom line is that this is about the cheapest $$ per TB in a decent size and with 7200rpm speed. You're probably too cheap to go bigger, so you'll settle for this to back up everything, and it'll be the right choice because this drive will likely last years without the abuse of being in a server (which it was designed to handle).

Seagate hard drives have always performed admirably for me over the years. So, of course, I ordered a Seagate 4 TB SATA hard drive. Installing it in the security camera system was a breeze for me. The holes were perfectly aligned, and the SATA cable was snugly fit. It formatted to just under 4 TB of data space, which is normal (some space is used up for directory structures, block allocation maps, and other things). br>br>With four 1080P video streams, the drive is more than capable. br>br>Overall, I'm happy with the drive, and it provides excellent value for the money.
