Amazon Renewed is the place to go if you want to buy pre-owned items. Products that have been previously owned and refurbished and have been inspected and tested to work and appear new. A supplier who has been re-certified by Amazon. The product will have minimal to no signs of wear, no visible cosmetic imperfections when held 12 inches away, and may arrive in a brown or white box with generic accessories. br>br>Then there's the preceding statement. Aside from the fact that it came in a brown box, none of the other claims are true. It arrived dusty, the inside was filthy, and the keyboard and mouse, which had most likely been purchased from the trunk of a car, were thrown out as soon as I opened them. br>br>The unit itself is fine and functions properly, but I would not expect an AMAZON RENEWED product to be so filthy when it arrives. If you need a refurbishment company, give us a call; we know what the term means, and it entails far more than simply inserting a thumb drive containing a copy of Windows and reinstalling it.

The attached (photo) warning appeared when all three of the purchased machines were booted up. We shouldn't have to investigate/troubleshoot something we just bought, whether it was a virus or not. This is not only inconvenient, but also misleading advertising. We bought these units because they came with Windows 10 PRO installed. It shouldn't be necessary to re-examine the situation. For these machines, you should install the ADVERTISED OS. Were they even inspected for saleability prior to shipment? We will not buy from this reseller again, despite the fact that the units are nice.

I bought it specifically to convert to Ubuntu Linux, so I can't comment on the Windows 10 operating system. br>br>The processor is an i5-3317U. The benchmark speed for the 6500T is 4,943 Mbps. For general use, this is fantastic. Celerons and Core 2 Duos, on the other hand, can bench up to 890 points. cpubenchmark is a good tool to use. Before making a purchase, use the internet to do some research. br>br>While 8 GB of RAM is sufficient for Linux, it is insufficient for Windows 10. It's a single-socket DDR4-based system. An upgrade is possible with the 2666, which can take a 16GB part (approximately $45). br>br>The wired USB mouse and keyboard that come with the computer are basic but adequate. br>br>However, because these units lack built-in WiFi, a USB WiFi Dongle is included. It's a generic part, and I've had issues with it losing connection. Removing the cord Replugging it fixed it, but I'd planned to use cable anyway, so it wasn't a big deal to me. If you want to use wifi, you should test thoroughly first. br>br>It includes a 9-volt battery. Only dvi connectors and a pin serial port (which is unusual these days) - no HDMI. If you want to connect this to a TV, you'll need a dvi-in cable. hdmi cable (do not use adapters) br>br>*A major issue is that, unlike HDMI, DVI does not support sound. If you want audio, your television must support "input combining," otherwise you'll need to find an audio cable and connect it to a speaker/amp setup. br>br>As has been mentioned by others, the computer and shipping materials smelled like cigarette smoke. It's not brand new, but it's in good condition. There are a few dings and scratches, but nothing that is distracting from the overall appearance. It doesn't bother me in the least. br>Be aware that the computer does not come with an internal wifi adapter, so you will need to purchase an external USB adapter. I don't consider this a deal breaker. I already owned a decent USB wifi adapter. br>I opened this computer to see what was inside and how clean or dirty it was. Inside, I discovered a small amount of dirt, but nothing particularly unpleasant. I just wiped everything down and plan to air compress it all in a few days to complete the cleanup. br>I update both Windows 10 and Lenovo's hardware drivers and bios. Everything is in working order. br>HARDWARE: HARDWARE is a term that refers to the hardware that is used Intel i5 6500T, 8GB SSD4 2133 (Samsung 1x8GB), and 256GB SSD drive, all from Samsung. br>You can upgrade to 2666MHz memory, but since this isn't a gaming computer, there's no need to be concerned. The performance difference between ddr4 2133 and 2666 is minimal. br>To keep things in order, I ordered a new 8GB Samsung with the same specs. For additional storage, I intend to replace the Samsung SSD with a WD 500GB SSD. Replace an old HDD in a Sony Viao laptop with a Samsung hard drive. br>Overall, this is a great personal computer that can handle most tasks with ease, and the Intel Graphics 530 can handle low-resolution games. Btw, if you really wanted to boost this computer's performance, the motherboard can handle an i7 6700T processor, but it's not necessary; you could just buy a refurbished one with an i7 for a few dollars more.
