Questions & Answers

Is it possible to record what is heard (stereo mix) with this card?

Thanks for reading! Try directly on the card to do what you indicate before answering this question, the quick answer is "yes, that is possible" using Linux and jackd, but I hear terrible feedback, and I fear that you are looking for a clear and clean audio that is a perfect fit. Using a quick and cheap technique I was able to do it In addition to the IOGear card I had out there (USB) I connected the intermediate volume output to the USB input on my asus, and it worked without difficulty. Thanks for taking the time to read my response. I hope it has helped.

The moment I start a video or stop it or even pause it or play it, there is a 2-second pause There is a 3 second delay before sound is heard. "Pop" followed by a loud noise. What could it be?

SVN (smart volume normalization) is what will allow the DG/DGX models to do that, so I'm not familiar with the SE model. The SVN button is in the audio center, so look for it.

Is it possible to mix stereo audio on the Xonar se drivers?

Stereo mix refers to different things depending on your definition. In addition to dual stereo inputs, the Line in & Line out jacks can be used to switch to four single channel inputs. A microphone is attached to the

The answer to your question is incorrect. 192hz is not the standard for recording & playback. The 192Hz frequency is used for what format other than DVD audio? What does it mean by 192 Hz in the dvd audio?

A DVD may not be the highest quality audio, but I suppose it's close. As you said they are considered high definition files, however, there are other sources that are higher resolution such as FLAC and ACLC, both of which are considered ultra high definition. The downloads of these can be found on several music sites for a higher price. They are often 384 Hz/32 Bit. There is no difference between the digital information and the analog information most people don't hear

It is impressive how low the noise is

It is better to take XONAR SE 5 as a backup. Luckily, so far, I've only had to deal with one PCIe card. Windows 10 did not present any problems in installing it. As part of my preparation before I installed the card in my computer, I did these things This is 1. Windows can be accessed through Device Manager. Uninstall Sound Card drivers from there. . * *2. Disable integrated sound in the BIOS by turning off the computer and going into the BIOS. 2. (Save and exit the BIOS) 3. The PC must be turned off and the card must be installed.
4. Install the newest drivers from ASUS by going to Windows, and then downloading the drivers. That's all I touched. (I didn't touch the CD that came with it. ) Symbols for br>5. Just reboot, and you're good to go. In fact, if I hover the mouse pointer over the speakers icon from the taskbar, it says "Speakers (USB)". As one reviewer previously mentioned, it seems to have a USB chip in it. Although I am not sure of the exact consequences, I don't feel like PCIe will be slower than USB. that is the case, that is really misleading and false. I have no idea, but it seems to work fine, anyway, that's not an excuse if a USB chip isn't supposed to be used on a PCIE device! I have a compact sound mixer, called Fifine 4 channel stereo, where I connect a bunch of audio equipment (including the line out from the card), and all of these are connected to my old, but very good, All the volume was turned up on the computer, mixer, and speakers and I could not hear any static noises, hiss, hums or any other sounds while recording! I am very In fact, when I put my ears to the speakers, I could not hear anything! It is strongly recommended that you use caution if you include a sound notification in an audio file. A sound notification from Windows may give you a very unpleasant surprise, and also not healthy for your audio gear. There is a nice flat sound in the sound (which is very good). You can trust me to do the EQ myself if you need me to! By the way, EQ, FX, ambience or whatever you want to call them are all turned off by default, yet another great feature. Currently I have only tested it on a few YouTube videos and a few audio files with Audacity. I have not tested a microphone or more advanced audio tools. No lags have been noted during the process, it appears to work as expected. Surround sound does not interest me, so that is how it is. I am able to use the front panel port In my next round of testing, I will provide an update. Currently, the SPDIF out only handles two stereo channels up to 24 bit, 192 KHz, according to Windows Sound settings. It will not produce digital 5 as a result. You will have to connect the analog audio connections if you want to use the surround system. As for Wikipedia, here is what I found Two channels of uncompressed PCM audio or one channel of compressed 5 can be carried by S/PDIF. " This is 1/27. The DTS audio codec is one such method of achieving surround sound (such as). Because of that, I don't care whether it outputs SPDIF 5 or not. There is only 1 compressed sound, but that is just In my opinion, the User Interface (UI) seems nice, simple, clean, and straight forward. I really hope this helps you with your decision.

This is an unreliable service that can't be relied upon
3/5

In the end, this is a disappointment considering how much better the audio quality would have been over the ALC1150. Although this card works well most of the time, its occasional propensity to cause audio glitches and to hang applications when the card is trying to output audio makes it impossible for me to recommend it in good faith. The event log for the system does not indicate any warnings or errors, it simply stops working until you reboot the computer. Running Windows 8 is my current operating system. The Pro 64-bit version of I. O. 1 The new version works bit by bit with This bit does). In some instances, the Xonar Audio Center disappears. In others, it seems to think the device is working reasonably when it is not able to switch outputs (thus causing the software to hang).

In any fundamental device, I don't expect anything less than absolute rock solid performance, which is why I have only given it one As I mentioned earlier, I am also disappointed in the way Windows handles malfunctioning audio hardware (it doesn't), but that is not the reason for my low rating. Since I have been using this card for 21 days, every day, and have encountered this issue 6 times, which has resulted in me having to reboot my computer to resolve it. No matter whether I disabled, deactivated, or reinstalled the driver, it did not work. Whenever the card is experiencing these kinds of issues, I firmly believe the card gets into a bad hardware state from which it cannot recover until it is powered down.

When I listen with studio headphones, the sound is almost identical to my high-end $100 card
4/5

The DAC on this card seems to be high quality and is almost as good as my top-end $100 card. My THX speaker setup or studio headphones work well with this card when I play my video games and listen to flac files. Despite its appeal, I do have two major gripes about this card Firstly, the price it rivals my expensive DAC with two major flaws This is 1. If compared to onboard audio or other sound cards, the volume on this card is extremely low even with the volume set at 100%. In comparison to other cards, the Xonar SE is set to 100%, which is the equivalent of 45%. The possibility of updating this in the future is unknown to me. In my opinion, it is one of the hardware components and is not something they can update. . * *2. I had the sound card set to the headphones as my primary output even when I was using only speakers.
