The Dell E5520 laptop I have has a dual booting Windows 7 and 10 operating system. When I tried using Win 10 (which is what I usually use), the DVD drive did not work. However, it did work under For reasons of fairness, Dell does not support Win 10 on the It turns out that I found a firmware update for the DVD drive on Dell's website that indicates it is compatible with Win 7, but does not indicate support for Win 10. However, it also said it couldn't be used on the E5520 because of some unknown However, I tried it anyway under Win 7 and the firmware for the DVD was updated. As soon as I booted into Win 10, I was able to see the DVD drive and it is working.
