This tray is made of The DVD drive for loading works exactly as it should. Reading and burning DVDs have never been a problem for me. I've got it hooked up to my USB-powered computer. My iMac, which runs OS 10, has a C port. Mojave is the number one. The following are some excellent points: 1) The drive is connected to the computer via USB. C is said to be faster than USB 2 or 3 ports, 2) it is extremely quiet, 3) it works right out of the box with no need for a power supply, and 4) it can be used with the USB-C cable provided. The bad point: The C to USB adapter works just as well when connected to a USB 2 port, and 5) it reads and burns DVDs flawlessly. Because it's a tray-based game, Make sure the DVD drive is on a flat surface before loading it. When open, the tray extends about 5 inches and requires the support of the desktop on the front of the tray to prevent the tray from bending when inserting the DVD into the drive. I have had no problems with this drive because it is on my office desk and has excellent support of the open tray door. It will be difficult to insert a DVD if you are traveling and do not have a flat surface for the DVD drive (for example, if your PC is on your lap). If that's the case, I'd suggest a slot-based system. DVD drive is currently being loaded.
I only had it for a few days, and it only worked half of the time, reading the disk one time and not the next. I'd be in the middle of a download when it'd disconnect, so I wouldn't recommend purchasing this POS.
I bought it to go with my MacBook Air. High Sierra is my current operating system, and this optical drive refuses to cooperate. It appeared to be in good condition when I got it. When I plugged it into my USB port, it worked perfectly. When I insert a CD or DVD into the C port, it recognizes the drive and even tells me the title of the disk I'm inserting. The viewer then appears, stating that it is not permitted, and another window appears, requesting that I select my region. Even though all of my disks are written for Region 1 and the drive's default setting is Region 1, it still won't play anything. I tried a few different disks, but the results were the same. I followed the instructions in the user guide that was emailed to me and rebooted mybr>MacBook, but that didn't help either. I emailed their customer service and got no response, so I'm returning it for a refund.
In comparison to this one, the last external DVD/CD player I had was dirt cheap! And because it eventually refused to eject or open its drawer to retrieve my CDs, I decided to take a chance on this one because the product description seemed to perfectly match my requirements. It arrived quickly and in a sturdy box after I placed my order. The player was protected by a padded travel case, so I had a good impression of the manufacturer and seller right away. I put in a DVD and pressed play after I set up my region of the world (which was super simple). It's that simple once more. Ejecting was not an issue, and the picture quality was excellent. Anyone would benefit from this. Thank you very much!.
I'm a big fan of this tiny gadget. My old CDs can now be digitized using my Mac. When using iTunes, the speed is only increased by about 8 times. It's not quite as quick as I'd hoped, but it works well with my MacBook Pro (2017) and I can leave it running in the background while I work. Macs, on the other hand, do not require any drivers. It was ready to use right away! DVDs have not been put to the test by me.
When technology advances, this is what happens. I had a collection of CDs and DVDs that I couldn't use any longer because my computer didn't have an internal drive, and I'm hesitant to buy a player for my new living room sound system. I thought this would be a good solution until it stopped working after three months of very light use. The device refused to turn on or open, effectively rendering it useless. br>br> I'll admit, I'd seen other reviews that mentioned the same issue, but we've gotten to the point where no Amazon product is now unaffected by negative reviews, so I took a chance. Those who complain without thoroughly considering their options should be aware that this device comes with a two-year warranty, which the company is very generous in honoring. All you have to do is send them an email through the Amazon listing's email address. In my case, I sent them a video demonstrating that my plug-and-play device was no longer working when it was plugged in, and they promptly sent me a replacement.
. Let's hope my new device lasts a little longer.
I bought this "highly" rated drive because I don't have a dvd/cd drive in my 2019 Mac Book Pro, and it has worked poorly from the start: When it comes to loading a DVD, I'm very picky. It won't open right now. It is not possible to obtain technical assistance. existent. This product does not satisfy me, and I believe I have been duped. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE.
Plays DVDs flawlessly. Music is flawlessly uploaded to iTunes. I don't see why it couldn't, but I work in a field where data cds are frequently handed to me, so hopefully this will be able to open them and extract the information. (I haven't tried this part yet, but I will update the review if I have any problems. ).
