LG Electronics 8X USB 2.0 Super Multi Ultra Slim Portable DVD+/-RW External Drive with M-DISC Support, Retail (Gold) GP65NG60

I didn't have the $80-plus to purchase a new Superdrive. It costs a lot of money to get an external Mac drive, so I was hoping that for the price I could find at least some use for this. It has been good so far. My burner has only been with me for about six weeks now. Still, I have already burned more than a dozen disks in those six weeks. Despite the speed and quietness of the drive, the ride is fairly quick. Each disk that has so far been burned has been flawless. In addition to watching DVDs and uploading CDs to iTunes, I have been using it to watch a couple movies. All has worked well so far. There was no need to install the software as it was a plug-in Toy with my Mac and play around with it. It's all plastic, so it's probably not an item you'll want to expect to live a long time. At the time, I purchased this item, I was very excited about watching DVDs and movies. As soon as I plugged the device into my computer and inserted my DVD, the movie did not play. There were several DVDs that I tried that did not work, which angered me so much. Then I did my research & read some of the product's reviews, and I found out that some computers do not have the necessary software to play In my research on Google, I found an article that recommended downloading the VLC media player, and I did so. When I hooked up the DVD player to my laptop again, I inserted the DVD and there you go! The movie began to play! You may have to download a software interface such as VLC in order to watch movies with this item.

IBPS MCAS NCAS This product is very up to LG's quality of electronic performance, along with its clean minimalist look that pleases the eye- In addition to this, it keeps up with the LG quality of electronic performance- The tray would stay shut for several months, but after about a year and a half, it would not shut. The normal operation of everything else about it continues to function. I am not familiar with how the internal latch mechanism works, so I am not able to diagnose the problem. When it comes to equipment, I am very light. To put it another way It's not my style to smash buttons or cram trays or doors closed, and I am very gentle with objects. In general, I don't pass on equipment until it has reached the end of its life. It was a surprise to find out that I couldn't return it after using it for a year. With a $30 repair fee, I probably won't pay someone to do It may not have been a fluke this time around, but I will buy another one and hope it isn't a repeat.

There is a statement in the instructions indicating that this drive works with Mac OS. The truth is that it is not. I DO NOT recommend that you buy this LG if you plan on using it with a Mac. Despite using the Sierra OS on my MacBook Pro, this LG drive has never been recognized. I contacted LG with a response informing me that if I wanted to use this LG drive, I would have to download the required I also cannot open the disc with programs that came with the drive and I cannot obtain the MacOS version of the disc that came with the drive. IBPS MCAS NCAS There is nothing good about this product! The device I purchased is used to transfer audiobooks from one computer to another that does not have a cd drive. It has been installed for less than 24 hours and After the first six tracks or so, it works fine, but once it gets to the end of a disc (any disc), it halts the import and makes a bad grinding noise. Please find a video of the problem attached. It was more important to me to go with a "reputable" brand, rather than some cheap After all this time and money wasted, I wish I hadn't wasted them. As long as I had the original packaging, I would return this right away. This is not a good purchase!.

I have tried Apple's external DVD player and was not impressed. Apple products are generally excellent but I had two iMac models that failed to load and eject DVDs because of the slot-loading and ejecting feature. I am an Apple fanatic, so it is rare that I don't like one of their products. Its tray loading is easily accomplished through a manual mechanism that may be less likely to fail than the LG. It is a very portable external drive. I have so far only used it to watch DVDs and rip them to my Mac Book Air, but it has worked every time and is very light and portable. I suggest storing the foam and the box in a safe place. software included in this package might be useful on a Windows machine, but I didn't need to install anything on my Mac for I installed it plug and play.
