It's too late to care, but the LG drive I used with win-2000 for about six months may be too late to help. As of last week, I had just upgraded to Windows 10, and the drive is working perfectly. I did not have to update any drivers. As far as I can tell, it's working fine, unless Windows 10 found and installed the drivers in the background, but the bottom line is that it works.
It should be able to burn music to a DVD- I don't see a problem with a rw disc, but if it's just music, none of the video. You would need only a CD-ROM Rather than a DVD, a rw disc is used. Anything that comes in contact with it will burn! I wish you all the best!
You don't just plug in a USB port to charge
There is a USB 2 port. Currently we are using USB 3.0 USB ports. USB 0 is not a type of USB port. It is even faster if you do 0 instead. The USB 3.0 port will be compatible with this. CDs and DVDs can be read with a USB 3.0 port and you do not need blazing speed.

I didn't have the $80 to purchase another one. It costs hundreds of dollars for an external Mac drive, so I was hoping to at least get some good use out of it at this price. As of now, everything is going well. * I've only had the burner for about a month, but so far it's been great. Over the course of those six weeks, I've already burned a dozen discs. Drive time is not too long and the trip is fairly I have burned every disk so far without any problems. Besides watching and uploading CDs, I have also used it for watching some DVDs. Everything has worked so far, and I haven't needed to use the included software since it is a plug-in Take a look at my Mac and play around. The toy is made largely out of plastic, so it probably will not last that long. However, I take my toys very seriously and I tend to treat them well, so I am hopeful that I will get a reasonable amount of use I will notify you if I do not receive it! I am amending the post (1/25/18) with the following information I have not reviewed my review for about a year now. There have been 200 DVDs burned in that time (far more than I planned) and maybe a dozen movies watched. Until my little LG burner died, I haven't had a single burned disk fail, and it's running like a champ on the job! When I first got this burner, I hoped I would be able to use it for six months before I had to replace it. There was no way I could have expected It is without a doubt the best $26 I have ever spent. You can use it on If I had another star I'd give you five! Up to date Despite the fact that it has not been two years since I purchased my LG drive, I still find it works Even though I haven't used it as often in the second half of this year, it answers flawlessly when I need it. The one that my daughter purchased for herself to use with her MacBook has been in use since she started college this fall. Hence, she takes part in the belief system (02/02/20) UPDATED We are still going strong after more than three years! It's fair to say that I don't work my burner too hard in general. But between my daughter's wedding and other uses, I've probably burned 50 to 60 pounds of fuel. I have burnt dozens of disks the last six months and have not had a problem. I've burned probably 350 or so disks, and I haven't had a failed one. To be honest, I believe I had suspect disks in both cases. One of the best investments I have ever made. A time period.
It was so thrilling to be able to watch movies or DVDs when I purchased the I inserted a DVD into the drive and the video wouldn't play once I connected it to my computer. This got me so disappointed because I tried multiple DVDs and they didn't work. I then did some research and read some of the reviews and discovered that some computers don't come with the software needed to view So I searched up 'VLC media player' on google as some reviews said to do, and So I plugged in the DVD player into my laptop again, inserted a movie, and there you go! The movie began playing! Despite its ability to play movies, this item might require you to download software such as VLC in order to watch them.
I. The problem The LG LB89 does a great job upholding the LG quality of electronic performance. Additionally, it has a clean minimalist appearance that pleases the eye - five stars is a great rating, because it stands out against competing products in its class. The tray, however, stopped staying closed after about a year and a half, so you can't use it anymore. Despite what I can tell about the latch mechanism, everything else about it works positively. I don't know what's wrong with it because I don't know how the internal mechanism works. It is very important to me to keep my equipment light. To put it another way The way I handle things is very gentle. I don't mash buttons, and my trays and doors don't get crammed shut. The equipment I have usually lasts until it is passed on to somebody else. That was a surprise. And I can't return it after using it for a year. Considering the cost of repair is $30, I probably will not pay someone to do In the end, I will have to purchase another one and hope that this was merely an error.
There is a statement in the instructions that this drive is Mac OS compatible. That is not what it is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS LG IF you plan on using it with a Mac. When I ask LG if I can use the LG drive with my MacBook Pro with the current Sierra operating system, they tell me I must download different software from them. I contacted LG and they informed me this would be necessary if I wanted to use the LG drive. Additionally, the disc with additional software that came with the drive cannot be read and it cannot be retrieved in a MacOS format either. Please find attached the electronic version of this message The following is the mail LG sent.
I don't know There is nothing to like about this product! The device that I purchased was to import audiobooks into my computer that does not have a CD drive. I've had it for less than 24 hours and it's already malfunctioning. The first six tracks or so make no problem, but as soon as it reaches the end of a disc (any disc), it stops and makes a strange grinding noise. I am attaching a video showing how this occurs. It was advised that I go with LG instead of a knock-off brand since they are considered a "reputable" brand. After losing my time and money, I wish I had not wasted them. As long as its original packaging is still with me, I would return it right away. The product is not worthy of your money!.
I tried Apple's external DVD player, but I was not satisfied with fanatic, it is rare that I do not enjoy one of their products, however, I had been burned by two iMacs where the slot loading and ejecting feature failed. In LG's external, the tray load is done manually, and seems much less prone to failure. Thus far I have used it only to view and rip DVDs to my Mac Book Air but it has worked every time I have tried it. It is a very light and portable external drive. It might be a good idea to keep the box and I don't know how useful the included software is on a Windows box this was plug and play on my Mac, so I didn't.
