This product was asked if it worked with AMD by someone. They may have been talking about AMD GPUs, I don't know. In the interests of clarity, it does not support It is impossible to play 4k Blu Ray HDR discs on an AMD platform through Intel's SGX (Software Guard Extensions) (it may be possible to spoof or hack it somehow, but I'm talking about "out of the box" capability). With Cyberlink PowerDVD 20 Ultra, I tested the drive on three computers with my own personal collection of computers. Despite its age (PowerDVD 14 is outdated and does not support 4k playback), the software included with the drive is quite outdated As for Blu ray movies, it can simply play standard Blu rays (maybe, since it is quite old, I am not sure what it will support anymore). I know that PowerDVD 20 (and probably 19) is the only available software package that supports 4k Blu-ray discs, so if you intend to use this drive for its intended purpose, you are pretty much locked in to buying one of those. In addition to those three systems, I also own a PC. The Sytem 1 system is as follows The AMD Threadripper 3960x paired with a RTX Titan - There was no support for SGX thus recording could not be played back. System A new, powerful laptop from HP with a 10th Gen i7
- HP Spectre x360 with OLED 4K displays Despite a sluggish load time for the movie, playback ran smoothly. It looks amazing on an OLED panel as one might expect. ** * System A RTX 2060 EVGA KODI X with an Intel i5 9600k and EVGA KO- During playback, there is no lag, but the loading times are somewhat long as well. The Pioneer drive has that limitation, so I think it's its fault. It's possible that future generations will have faster read rates. I tested it on my LG Nano IPS TV. It worked great and looked great. As I haven't tested too many movies yet I don't know if there are any films it won't work with/might need a firmware update for. "Ghostbusters", which are both older movies but functioned flawlessly in 4k, and "Predator" were the only movies I tested in this setting. The movie Predator did just come out in 4k however, so even though the movie is old, it is a brand new release as far as I know and would likely have been filmed with the latest technologies. The game played well and looked as impressive as would be expected from an old film remastered to 4k. Despite the drive's aesthetics, it is pretty slim and has a fairly rounded profile, which makes it easy to carry around. The HP Spectre won't take me by surprise, but I can enjoy super-fast browsing combining it with my HP Spectre The best films right at your fingertips. It is unfortunate that discs are dying and eventually we will all be forced to stream our media, but for now, if you want to watch uncompressed videos at the highest quality, this is the best option. It comes with no useful software, and you are required to use an Intel-based processor. I would rate it a 4/5 for not having any useful software AMD does not seem to support DRM in AMD-based systems (that's not Pioneer's fault, it's a DRM issue). It is not possible to play 4K discs on a dedicated GPU. *Update*
Discs in 4k require a dedicated GPU to play. It IS required that your display be connected to the IGP (the HDMI output of your motherboard). In my experience, you'll receive a warning message if you try to play a movie using an Nvidia GPU (I haven't tested AMD), stating that your card is incapable of playing UHD discs and/or the drivers must be out-of-date. Please ensure that your motherboard has at least two HDMI ports if you're using a desktop. It must be version 0b or higher as otherwise you will not be able to play HDR content (4k will still work, but not HDR).
A computer with an Intel processor can play UHD 4K titles. ARM and AMD are all I can choose from. There are a lot of morons in movie studios who are addicted to It will be necessary to pirate the UHD 4K movies I purchased to watch them in that resolution. If the film studios make this useless, and give their potential customers an incentive to pirate instead, what incentive does anyone have to buy the product? My opinion of this thing is that it's a fancy brick.
You can use Intel's Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility to identify your processor before you purchase. You can find it in the Security section Make sure you are installing the Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) if it is not listed, you will not be able to Using the drive in this case is no different from using a normal drive Currently there is no UHD drive available. The only reason I bought it was to play UHD movies. Other than that, it's a nice compact portable device. I wish I had done my research first. In the absence of that capability, I can make do with the 8 existing drives I already have. It is with great regret that I must inform you of.
The games just won't work for you. The following warning has been issued I love how sleek and smooth the unit is Fast and accurate, it burns quickly and evenly. Because I was able to play it back on my computer using the same burner/player, I can verify it. However, it doesn't get any better than this There is a blue-green algae The household Blu-ray player does not support Play Blu-ray discs You can play rays on your computer. This is R. . ). In addition, I have tried playing the burned discs on a number of Blu-ray players There are several Ray players in the family (ranging in age). Typically, it is listed as "unrecognized" or "data not available". We won't take it back if we return it to Amazon. They were polite, but not helpful with their product support. As a result, we have to use an expensive paperweight.
After a lot of searching and disappointments, I finally found a media player that works well with my iMac and burns Blu-ray discs.
January of 2021 was the date when I bought it. As soon as I received the card, it worked. I enjoyed it a lot. My player wasn't used for a few months and I accidentally tried to use it yesterday. It was unable to play a DVD, I tried putting in the last piece of Blueray, it wasn't able to do it either. A number of discs couldn't be read. A baby of less than 5 months of age. Then he was.
I was extremely satisfied with this product. It was quiet, reliable in burning, easy to use and stable on Mac technology. This is a very practical product that is worth the price paid. For professionals who want to back up video and multimedia information in 4K, I strongly recommend it.
