  This is a fantastic small kit, in my opinion. Using the Open Camera App on my Google Pixel 3a, it works flawlessly. The tripod is simple to set up and use, and it can be used for handheld shots as well as sitting on its own legs. The mic, in particular, is fantastic. It's a big step up from the built-in mic on my Pixel. I also like the phone mount, and I like that everything comes in a cute little case. This book comes highly recommended.

br>br>Unfortunately, microphones in smartphones are never included in the "upgraded feature" list that your newest phone manufacturer sends out every year or so. If you're doing anything remotely serious with your smartphone that includes audio, you'll almost always have to use an external device completely separate from your phone and sync later, or, in this case, grab a high-quality external microphone to use instead of that clunky, stock "thing" that "records" audio built-in, as is the case here. This Comica Smartphone Video Rig Kit CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM- CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM-CVM- VM10- One of the reasons I bought the K2 kit was because it has a lot of positive Amazon reviews praising its effectiveness and overall quality for the price. This one is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. iPhones, as well as digital cameras (or really anything with a TRRS), are considered'shotgun microphones' because they point directly at the source you want to record, and yes, the jack connector that connects to your phone is TRRS. If your phone doesn't have a TRRS connector, you'll need to purchase a TRS to TRRS adapter (which can be found here). br>br>The mounting clip is very sturdy and fits my Samsung S7 perfectly. However, it's worth noting that this isn't a spring-loaded clamp like you'll find on other smartphone accessories. With this clip, you must unscrew a large black plastic knob until the clamp is positioned to fit your phone, then screw it back in place. This clamp has two screws, which can be a little confusing at first (as you can probably see in my video). But, just as I did, you'll get a good idea of how this clip works pretty quickly. br>br>I like how this microphone came with both a classic "pop filer" foam and a "dead cat" to block out the wind noise. The included short tripod was a nice touch, and because it has a standard 1/4 tripod screw, I could use it with my other camera gear as well as this microphone. br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with this kit, and I am confident that I will continue to purchase Comica-branded merchandise in the near future. br>br>So, to summarize. . .

  So, after a week of owning the comica video rig, this all-in-one smartphone video package enabled me to get what I would consider above-average results. With only my iPhone 8, I was able to produce average audio. For people who are vloggers or new to video and video editing, this is a great option for a smartphone tripod, and the shotgun mic, from what I can tell, delivers better audio results than the internal iphone/smartphone audio, through what I would consider a more authentic audio sound (more gain, more low end). When I used the setup, I only used the built-in iPhone video app because I assumed that's how most people would film, and it worked perfectly. I believe that using an app like Filmic Pro or something similar to improve the audio quality would be beneficial.
PROS: All-in-one purchase to improve the video quality of your smartphone right awaybr>- br>Easy to carrybr>br>br>br Compatible with all smartphones (I was also able to use it with my GH5)br>- The shotgun mic's build quality is on par with that of the MOVO videomicbr>- A handy carrying case is included. br>br>CONS: The mini tripod can only hold Smartphones and GoPros, which is a minor flaw. br>- I discovered that if I was running or had a lot of shake, the mic shock mount would make noise (this also happens with my movo videomic and rodemic if there is a lot of shake).

Overall, I consider this kit to be a good buy. Everything appears to be well-made, and the tripod is sturdy enough to hold my Canon M50 (and, I assume, any smartphone). The smartphone tripod mount is of excellent quality, with a cold shoe mount for the microphone on top. The microphone's quality was adequate in my opinion. In comparison to a similar Movo microphone I own, I'd say the mic lacks fidelity but excels at blocking unwanted noise; in the end, I think the mic strikes a good balance between picking up your voice clearly and not picking up unnecessary noise-- For the time being, it'll be my go-to mic. Consider that a good tripod and phone mount will set you back $15 to $20 each, while a comparable shotgun mic will set you back $30 to $40. This is a pretty good deal because you get everything for $50 (including a nice carrying case). br>br>Of course, with something like this, there's also the issue of longevity. I haven't used the kit for more than a week, so I can't speak to that. Again, first impressions of quality are favorable. If I run into any problems, I'll post an update. br>br>***One caveat: the included 3. The TRRS connector for smartphones is a 5mm cable. If you want to use it with a camera (like the Canon M50), you'll need to buy an extra TRS cable.

I did some audio tests and it picked up the sounds really well! I also did some outdoor vlogging and the audio quality is far superior to the stock iPhone mic. (On windy days, remember to use the deadcat!) ) simple to use; simply plug in and record! The only drawback is that to open the clamp that holds your phone wide enough to accept larger phones, you must turn the dial for a long time. Expect to do that whenever you're getting ready to shoot. br>br>It's made of plastic, but it's of high quality and lightweight. If they made it out of aluminum, that would be a huge plus. I've also tried the Rode video micme, and they sound very similar and similar in comparison. This is a fantastic choice!.
