Within 50 days, the mic's lightning plug had snapped! I'd only used it a handful of times. I was thinking that if enough force was accidentally applied to the joint with the lightning dongle, something like this might happen. As a result, I took extra precautions with it. Regardless, around day 40, it began to make popping noises. I submitted a ticket on the Rode website, but they have yet to respond. Their website claims to offer a one-year extended warranty (and they gave me a warranty certificate to prove it). But it appears that this is all for show, as they have yet to respond to me. To make matters worse, they're in Australia, and it doesn't appear that I'll be able to contact them other than through their website, so I'll update my ticket to reflect the fact that it's now broken. Let's see if they stick to their guarantee! br>br>5/24/2021 Update - I'm pleased to report that they responded to my ticket and instructed me to send my broken unit to a US address. I did, and I had a working microphone in no time. That's fantastic that their warranty was honored. Although I am raising my rating, I am still concerned that this new unit will suffer the same fate as my first. I'm hoping it lasts longer than the Rode mic that sits on the shock mount (the shock mount makes noise when you walk).
br>I added an Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick extension to my RODE Vlogger kit (thank you David Manning) that has increased the versatility of this small unit. br>Best wishes, Markbr>br>PS: It also comes with a Dead-By-Dead-By-Dead-By- (See the previous image;) unvailing box).
When I first got this mic, I put it to the test by recording a video in the same environment with and without it. I'm happy because it was significantly better.
This did exactly what it said it would do on the box! It fits into my iPhone's lightning port and is stable, small, and light! The light cube, oh, how I adore it! That was an unexpected delight.
There is no sway at all. The tightening of the ball head is excellent. I don't have any concerns about my phone moving around like it did with other tripods/mounts. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
The phone's mic plug broke after a week. After paying so much for it, I was a little disappointed. The item has been returned and the money has been refunded to the customer.
The audio had become faulty after only a few months. Despite having a warranty, we have yet to receive a replacement.
I was under the impression that this was an Android app. As an iPhone, it's useless to me.
