This is the upgraded version of the original ESR Magnetic Kickstand Wireless Charger. The internal chip has been upgraded. An original USB cable was included in the package for use in the original version. The update includes a new user manual and a rewritten user guide that advises you that you must use the included cable. However, I tested the original Apple USB C cable that accompanied my MacBook Pro 87w adapter and it worked just fine. I also tested with the Apple original TB3 cable and it worked It is important to remember that this is not the official Apple MagSafe charger at 15w rather, this is ESR's magnetic QI charger described as having a maximum output of 7W. It does not recognize my iPhone 12 Pro Max as "MagSafe" (in the same way that it does with other 3rd-party MagSafe-compatible devices) Magnetic chargers are not seen as Qi chargers by the system although they can be seen as a wireless charger by the system. Magnets are one of the strongest forms of attraction, so long as they are close enough to where you need them, they stick every time. It is important to note that magnetic charging isn't as fast as using a cable charger, but since I use this at night, that's fine with me. There was a problem with the cable, as it charged slowly and broke after 5 weeks. I am returning it one week after the return period was over because the USB c cable was incredibly slow and stopped working after 5 weeks. It still worked without MagSafe, even with a case that lacked the magnetic line. In contrast, the kickstand on the pro max model is practically useless but may perform better on smaller iPhone models. I am extremely disappointed that this cable does not fully utilize the capabilities of the MagSafe charger that came with it. As soon as I used my iPhone OEM cable with the same outlet brick, it charged much faster, almost twice as fast. With the stock cable, the battery would drop if I used my phone and charged at the same time (which is MagSafe's whole purpose).
I have updated A refund was issued to me by the seller. My only regret is that I got a faulty unit, but I think I was just unlucky and it was just my luck. But I would again buy from this seller as they offered to send me a new one or refund—and they contacted me after I left It is nice that this charger has a kickstand. The magnet keeps it rigid, and the kickstand is perfect for propping your phone up as you use it. I am not certain why it says "wireless" charger as it requires a wire cable, which is provided, but it does not come with an adapter. Cable provided is the only way to use it. Thus, it does not have wireless capability. In addition, my device charges for 10 minutes or so and then randomly stops so I suspect I might have received a faulty unit. The magnets seem strong, as do the kickstands, but the cable that came with it makes things a bit chaotic.
