No, the light will cause it to have a solar charging response, but it won't be very effective, and it will require exposure to the sun to achieve true solar charging. I purchased this unit, as well as several others, and I always fully charge and discharge them before fully charging them again

I connected it to a hawkmaster ah tester and recorded the total amount of discharge on these battery banks. The vast majority of them do not have what they advertise, and I am aware of about 10-percent of them. 20% of these battery banks are unusable to begin with, but with that in mind, this one only delivers around 5000 ah total usable discharge, far worse than all others. This bank is only a 5000 ah battery bank, and I have three of them, all of which tested identically. The true 20K and up battery banks weigh more than a pound, so you can tell. This is significantly smaller and lighter than a 20-pound bag, indicating that it is not a 20-pound bag. 30K bank. A word of advice for the wise.

This thing works great for powering up the 5V fiber optic Christmas tree, I was able to find that old fugly printer USB in a drawer then found a wall charger with the same tip, so what I did was cut back some installation on the grey printer USB and also on the adapter wire, putting 2 to 2 together plugged it into that solar charger when the tree lit up electrical taped it all up AND was able to run it for 6 hours

This is a complete waste of time. Make sure you don't throw your money away. br>Plugged it into a wall charger (took 2 days) and solar is still charging after 4 days but will not charge anything.

I requested this as a birthday present. It functions in the same way as a standard power block. The solar part, in my opinion, does not work at all. I would strongly advise against it. It was especially important to me because of the solar power aspect.
