On the Apple website, the original product costs only $2 more and ships for free. I decided that the $2 was well worth it to ensure that it was genuine.
Only the adapter is included.
YES. In contrast to a previous post, this power adapter will work with any voltage between 100 and 240 volts. 240 VAC, 50 Hz 60hz. As a result, IT WILL WORK ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET. A plug adapter for the region or country will be required, which can also be found on Amazon.
The one I got was from Apple, and it was the right size for my Mom's iPhone 7, which she was using at the time, and she likes it. If you have a more recent iPhone or other device, the 18W USB-C charger might be worth considering. C for faster charging, but make sure it'll work with the devices you're planning to use it with first.

It doesn't look or feel like "Apple" quality, and when I tried to return it as soon as I could, my suspicions were confirmed when I couldn't. It doesn't say where it's made anywhere. However, I can only make educated guesses.
When I plug my iPhone into this, everything goes crazy. Opens apps and likes posts and stuff on its own, as if the phone is possessed. It charges, but I'm not going to use it because I don't think it's good for my phone.
While charging, the touch screen goes crazy. At first glance, everything appears normal, but you can't use the screen while it charges. The unit is faulty, and the wattage must be turned off. This product should be avoided at all costs.
Everything about it, from the Amazon marketing to the pulltab on the box, suggested it was a genuine Apple product, but after comparing it to other known genuine chargers, I'm not so sure.
- My oldest charger was most likely purchased in 2014, when I purchased my first iPhone. There is no Apple logo on it, only a green dot. (After a 2008 recall, the green dot was added to indicate an updated design, and was later replaced by the Apple logo at the top. ) Between the prongs is a silkscreen that reads "Flextronics. "
- The chargers I bought for $19 each from an official Apple Store at the mall today (5/2021, box copyright 2019) are nearly identical to the ones I bought in 2014, with the exception that they don't have the green dot and the Apple logo is near the top.
- The $12 chargers I bought on Amazon in 2020 look identical at first glance and second glance, but the silkscreen is softer and almost illegible, and "Flextronics" has been replaced by a mystery word (apparently, "Artesyn" is one authentic manufacturer).
Instead of going to the Apple website, I should have gone to the Apple website. These are counterfeit chargers that are made to resemble Apple products as closely as possible without infringing on trademarks. complete with phony labeling and instructions I'm not sure why Amazon allows this type of deceptive description to continue to exist. I bought some non-alcoholic beverages. In the past, I've purchased Apple products to work with my Apple devices, but I was aware of what I was getting. I'm going to send these back.
This block came packaged in an Apple box and appears to be identical to the Apple OEM product that came with my iPhone. Because I "let someone borrow it at work," I had to replace mine. ", and we're all familiar with the outcome. It doesn't overheat and charges my iPhone 7 in about the same amount of time as any other charger I've tried. It appeared to be brand new and unopened (rather than refurbished). I got a better deal than I would have gotten if I had gone directly to the manufacturer. It meets my expectations, and I would buy it again.
After a few weeks, I decided to stop working. br>I'm not sure if this is an Apple product. br>There's no Apple logo or indication that it was created for Apple anywhere on it.
a fantastic item!.
