Questions & Answers

What is the width of it?

15 inches in length (side to side), 6 inches in depth, and 8 inches in height (top to bottom).

Will this fit on the transmission hump of a 1970s GM B-body car?

All I can say is that it fits perfectly on the tranny hump of my Jeep CJ7, and I wish you luck.

Is this going to work with 5. 25 x 5. Are there going to be 25 people speaking?

Yes, 5. There will be enough room for 25 speakers.

Is this going to cause an issue with the heater duct?

It depends on the year of your Jeep; it wouldn't fit in my 1978 CJ-70. It got in the way of the heater outlet as well as the transmission shifter. I was fortunate in that the manufacturer was willing to exchange it for a product that I could use.

Ideal for my stock 1976 CJ7 with stick - Heavy-gauge plastic 'pod' with acoustic material, two (bagged) self-taping metal screws, rubberized oversized flat washers, and instructions - in case it's required br>br>I would buy this product again and/or recommend it to others
5/5

br>br>It was perfect for my needs; 76 CJ7 with manual transmission in stock condition. If your heater box has the optional, plastic floor outlet deflector, it will touch and cover the lower portion a little - Pod matched the uncarpeted floor contour perfectly). I'll just cover the front of the deflector with painted HVAC tape (to keep the air from blasting into my pod) and it should direct more air into the footwells)br>br>They don't provide self-tappers to secure the pod to/through your floor, NOT. I used a ton of high-quality hoop and loop self-adhesive tape (Velcro) to keep it in place during normal to spirited driving, but theft is a different story. br>br>For my suggested, 6. br>br>I widened the speaker holes. 5 inch coaxle speakers with filters and crossovers attached. The speakers can be mounted directly in the pod due to the thickness of the plastic walling. (I didn't use the speaker mounting metal clips or screw retainers that came with the kit. ) The clip retainers are too shallow, and I'd have to remove more pod material if I used them - Polk Audio is to blame for this. )br>br>I used thick gauge wire that just fit through the pre-drilled holes. I had to remove the provided rubber grommet, so I'll just caulk it) Personally, I think a grommet or two in various sizes should be provided. The installer then drills a hole in the desired location. br>br>I wish there had been a little more acoustical fiber provided; you don't want to overdo it, but I wish there had been a little more. br>br>When the transfer case is set to 4H, the shifter is very close to my speaker grills, and it may even hit them during spirited driving - I think I went with a shallower speaker grill/profile than the Polk Audio DB651 speaker. Alternatively, I may consider removing or altering my air deflector to gain space to move the pod closer to the firewall. br>br>I've added a couple of pictures. br>br>Once again, a high-quality product that met my needs perfectly. I'd make another purchase.

The air conditioning in my 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ isn't working
3/5

Fits a 94 Jeep Wrangler YJ but not a 94 Jeep Wrangler YJ. For starters, it accommodates six people. If the speakers are Pioneer TS-, you can use all five without cutting. G650. Second, in order to install a yj, the drain plug on the bottom of the AC fan box must be removed. Even then, it will fit, but you won't be able to hear or see half of the speaker. Due to the bottom of the vents, I won't be able to go any further forward. So if your yj doesn't have air conditioning or a heater, this will fit perfectly, but if it does, it won't.

CJ7 from 1979 This isn't the case
3/5

Borg-Warner CJ7, 1979 T150 (Warner) Dana 20 - If you have a factory heater, this simply will not work. You can't shift into 4WD with the box pressed up against the heater; and the heater is controlled by the box, leaving the heater in "defrost. "br>br>The box is well made, and would be ideal if you wanted to remove the heater.

For a 67-year-old woman, this is an ideal fit
5/5

The vehicle is a 1972 Ford F100 equipped with an automatic transmission. My 1970 F100 was perfect for it! I decided on number six. Because there were 5 pioneers, I needed to enlarge the opening holes a little, which was simple to do with a jig saw and dremel. It took about ten minutes to set up.

Installing it was a pain in the neck
3/5

Doesn't fit all of the models that claim to do so. Although the price does not quite match what they claim, it does look good in your Jeep if you can get it to fit. But be careful, it doesn't fit all makes and models as they claim, and some of the older Jeeps will require some Jerry rigging to make it work.

It's the perfect fit for my 1993 Jeep YJ
4/5

This box is available for purchase. It's the perfect fit for my 1993 Jeep YJ. Kicker 6 is included in the price of this box. Although it came with 5 inch speakers, I chose to purchase it without them and save $50 by purchasing the exact same speakers on Amazon. To fit the speakers, I had to use my dremel tool to slightly open up the holes, but otherwise, the 6. The numbers 5 and 6 are ideal. Because I didn't want to drill holes in my body tub, I just used velcro to attach mine.

My 1989 CJ7 was a perfect fit for it
5/5

My 1989 CJ7 was a perfect fit for it. With a jigsaw and a dremel tool, I was able to make some 6" Sony Marine speakers fit perfectly in a matter of minutes. The sound quality is surprisingly good, which is aided by the fact that the box includes some polyfill material to place behind the speakers.

As expected, it functions properly
4/5

It's a little smaller than I expected, but it gets the job done. It was necessary to modify the speakers to fit them, but that was to be expected. Everything is as it should be.
