If you order them through RVLock, they will be keyed alike if you order them all at the same time!
It includes a set of keys. The key that came with your trailer will not open the door. This is only used to secure the deadbolt. If you want to completely lock the door, you must use the key. We really enjoy it and find it to be very useful.
The size distinction, as well as the price distinction, is significant. The following is taken from the RVLock website's FAQ section: br>br>
A. Both the RVLock V4 and the Keyless Compact handles have a wireless fob and a keypad for entry. While the Keyless Compact can be used on the same doors as the V4, it is designed for doors with a full window entry. The Keyless Compact is square in shape, as opposed to the teardrop shape of the V4. Our Compact handle is also made of a lighter material and features shared keypad buttons.
I snapped some photos and emailed them to rvlocks. They advised me on the best models to use. After that, I went to Amazon and bought something. My Aspen Trail 3010bhds was manufactured in 2018. It was simple to put in place.

Overall, I'm satisfied. It appears to be working properly, but there are a few points to consider: My factory lock's body (the two halves that bolt together on each side of the door) was made of metal, and the two halves were held together by fine thread bolts. I wasn't expecting the two halves to be made of plastic and held together by simple screws that screw into the plastic mold on the outer half, despite the fact that this is billed as an upgrade. For such a high-priced item, I would have expected a more durable structure. In addition, I found the keys to be flimsier than the ones that came with my OEM lock. For the time being, I'm leaving it on, but I consider it more of a convenience feature upgrade than a true security upgrade. It's not like I'm camping in dangerous areas or leaving my trailer unattended for long periods of time, but your mileage may vary.
The lock was simple to set up and functioned flawlessly. It's worth noting that the remote and keypad only operate the deadbolt, while the handle lock can only be locked or unlocked using the inside lever or outside key. I like the lock and have no regrets about purchasing it; however, I assumed that because the remote had two sets of buttons, it would work with both locks.
The manual lock on the item had been broken off when it arrived. I attempted to return the item, but it was marked as "resolved technical issue" and then closed. I have yet to hear from anyone, and I am still owed money.
I read reviews on this one and the other one, and this one is much sturdier and not plastic, as stated here. br>I don't like working with complicated things, and this was incredibly simple to set up.
It performs admirably. Although the inside handle could be made to feel a little more solid, it still functions well. My door would not latch after I installed it, so I had to use a file to move the strike plate to make room for this handle. That didn't sit well with me. br>The handle pad's push keys are thin and flimsy. I expect them to fail soon, or have a hole punched in them by a fingernail poking too hard. br>Programming and Bluetoothing the remote was very simple. br>I wish I had ordered the better one from the rvlock website rather than this amazon knockoff special.
I know it's secure because I can hear it when I lock it from the truck.
As the proud owner of a 2020 Grand Design Imagine 2970RL travel trailer, I've discovered that many entry door and cargo compartment locks use keys that aren't specific to your trailer. To put it another way, no two camper trailer locks are the same. I bought this lock because I was excited about the prospect of shrinking my key ring, having the convenience of a remote/keypad, and increasing the security of my trailer. This unit appeared to be a slam dunk due to the high percentage of positive reviews. br>br>However, as with many other reviews on this site, the predominant plastic construction was disappointing upon opening the box and inspecting it. How is this going to be as strong as my current door lock, which is all metal? Installation and removal of the factory door latch and lock assembly were both simple. Having a helper hold the interior side of the assembly in place while you hold the exterior assembly in place to install the first screw makes things a lot easier and reduces the chances of dropping one of the latch pieces. br>br>Once installed, it takes about 5 minutes to get up and running. I was able to put it to the test in under 10 minutes. Closing the door from the outside worked fine, but I had to exert a lot of pressure on the door with the palm of my hand to get it to close. After that, I went inside to close the trailer door. Uh- The only way to close the door was to slam it shut, and I mean really slam it shut. Using the plastic interior handle to firmly close the door did not work because the entire plastic handle assembly flexed to the point of snapping. br>br>OK, I reasoned, I'll just move the strike plate on the trailer outward to give the latch more clearance to engage without slamming or exerting too much force. I couldn't get it to work because I didn't have enough clearance, and I didn't want to cut, bend, or modify the strike plate to force it to work because I wanted to be able to go back to my factory lock if necessary. I then spent the next hour or so adjusting how the lock assembly fit in my door opening, etc. , and trying everything I could think of to get it to work without having to slam the door shut with excessive force. In conclusion. br>br> Pros: The lock was well-fitting and simple to install. Cons: I couldn't stand having to slam the door shut from the inside because I was afraid of breaking the plastic handle or something else. Since I'm returning the lock, I haven't had a chance to program it, so I can't comment on its functionality. Because of the mostly plastic construction, inability to work for my application, and relatively high cost given that it is mostly plastic, I gave it one star.
I would suggest it. The lock appears to be well made and is simple to install. It's simple to change the password, and the fact that you don't have to carry keys is a huge plus. br>This bumper pull was installed on a 2017 Jayco Jayflight.
