Questions & Answers
Contact the RVLock company's customer service department; they are extremely helpful. I don't have my fob open, and I haven't had to replace the batteries in over four years.
I'm not sure, but perhaps for RVs with a second entrance door? My RV Lock/keyless fob is fantastic. We've had it for years (the 2012 Redwood came with an RV lock), though we did have to replace the keypad when we upgraded to a new door handle with a built-in pad. We were spoiled once we discovered the fobs and can't imagine not having them. Customer is extremely pleased. I'm not sure if RV Lock Customer Service has changed, but we were always pleased with our interactions with them.
I'm not sure, but now that you've asked, I think I'll give it a shot.
A single key fob is included. An extra one will set you back $25. You should save your money and not use it to outfit your camper because the product is poorly constructed. I put mine on for 30 minutes before taking it off and returning it. I'm trying not to be rude about the product, but it's garbage. Save your money and headache by not buying it.

That which I found appealing. I can leave the remote in my pickup and unlock the door without having to look for my key or fob, allowing me to carry my groceries without having to look for it. There are no additional steps in programming the three second fob as there were in programming the first fob. br>What I don't like: The instructions for programming the door and fob are unclear. I had to watch a YouTube video before I could program it for the first time. br>You must also hold the buttons for at least 2 seconds. Any button, all buttons, must be held for at least two seconds. The instructions do not specify that you must hold the fob's unlock button for at least 2 seconds for it to work properly. br>However, I adore the lock and key fob as a whole! I'd buy it again, and I'd recommend it to others.
It appeals to my tastes. Programs are simple to understand. Have one for me and one for my wife, both of which can be programmed independently by pressing the lock button on the back of the lock and the lock button on the remote. First and foremost - Unless I was very close to the lock, I didn't think it worked. However, I discovered that it does not operate in the same way as a garage door opener. To lock or unlock the door, press the 1- and 2-button combinations. It took 2 seconds. This is convenient because "pocket presses" are virtually eliminated. It's more convenient.
The key fob can only be used up to 30 feet away, and the signal does not pass through walls. In my opinion, it kind of defeats the point. For it to work, I almost need to be in direct line of sight. Even if I'm on the other side of the camper, it won't work. However, the keypad is in good working order. Aside from that, the beeping noise is irritating. It chimes every time you use the device, and there is no way to turn it off. The installation was simple, but because the actual locking mechanism, Barney, aligns with the striker plate, you must push or pull the door to fully latch it. I've pushed the striker plate as far as it will go. It's installed on a 2020 Forest River Cedar Creek 42' 5th wheel. It's possible that I'll have to return the item. All I have to do now is look around and see what else is available.
I set it up and it worked fine for the first month, then it took 7 clicks to get it to work again a month later. It's impossible to predict whether or not something will work. Yes, I've tried everything and it still doesn't work.
Our RV Lock, which came with two keys and a FOB, is perfect for our 42' 5th wheel RV. My wife and I, on the other hand, wanted the FOB, so I got it. It was simple to set up and operate, but it did make me realize how the icons on the original FOB had worn away. Given that its purpose is to be carried around, it appears that it could be improved. That, however, has no bearing on my assessment of the new one.
Lights are flashing now, but they aren't synchronizing, and the company is refusing to respond to my support requests.
The most important thing is for my wife to have her own space.
The keypad number tab is lifting off and will not program after 6 hours on our rv door. This model is not covered by any of the installation or programming videos. I'm returning it and placing an order for the more expensive unit in the hopes that it will work. br>br>It was very simple for me to hang it on my door, which I appreciated.
