Hello, it covers the button, so if you want to use it, you must press that button. It doesn't make it any more difficult, but it does provide that extra layer of protection and ensures that it does not stand out. It's a flat button covered in a rubber case. However, you must apply a lot of pressure.
Quite easily, actually. I like them because I frequently drop my keys, and it protects them from scuffs. However, when they're in my purse, they can get dirty, but they clean up quickly with a wipe of your hand. They come highly recommended from me.
I don't believe the fobs have changed, so it should still work. My 2017 Outback Limited was a perfect fit. It also fits a 2013 Forrester that a friend has.
China, in my opinion.

Just FYI. br>If you're wondering if these will fit the FOB on a 2019 Ascent, even though it says they won't on their compatibility chart, trust me. they do.
6R Key Fob is a key fob with a 6R on it. A perfect match for a Subaru Outback 3's key fob from 2018. 6R. Getting on was a challenge. If I need to access the manual key, it will be difficult to remove. br>br>I got this primarily to add a little height above the "unlock car" button on the key FOB, as well as to make it a little more difficult to accidentally press the "open back hatch" button on the key FOB while it was in my pocket with my house keys. br>br>I'm hoping that this key fob cover will eliminate the problem of my Subaru's back hatch accidentally opening when my house keys were accidentally pressed against the Subaru key fob previously. This has happened to me before, and I found the back hatch raised and my car battery dead the next morning when I went down to my garage.
I'm overjoyed that these are now available. I've had a crosstrek for a few years and have been looking for silicone key covers to protect the keys from being scratched. And I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these because they're labeled and still allow access to the alarm button. br>br>They arrived in a cute little sealed baggy and were a perfect fit. They're also thick, unlike the cheap silicone that stretches after a few weeks. br>br>The thickness of the cutout for the middle button can be seen in the photo.
Because it's gardening season, I'm concerned that my Subaru keyless entry system will be compromised. While I'm raking, shoveling, and sawing, my entry fob falls out of my pocket. Because I knew I'd have a hard time finding a black fob among the leaves and loose dirt, I braided a colorful lanyard around it - It's a step forward, but the red jacket is even better. The jacket is made of a very flexible plastic. br>br> It's a snug, tailored fit, about as compact as a jacket can be, and comfortable in the hand; the icons on the jacket's buttons are much clearer than those on the fob, and they're also embossed. br>br>Though I haven't had it for long enough to know, the plastic appears to be durable. The printed icons may fade over time, but the embossing will last, and that was the only feature of the fob. br>br>Apart from Subaru offering colored fobs in the first place, these jackets are about all I could hope for. I'm not sure if they have any "protective" value because the fobs are sturdy, but they do make finding the fob in the house and yard much easier.
My office keys have very sharp teeth, so I keep them on a ring attached to a belt clip. I knew that an unprotected key fob would be scratched up in a matter of days, so I ordered this fob cover to keep it safe. It's just for show, but I imagine it'll keep the fob safe from a moderate drop. The cover takes some getting used to, but once it's in place, it doesn't obstruct any buttons or functions.
These are an "absolute must" for anyone who, like me, keeps their remotes in their pockets. I was skeptical that they would prevent false remote signaling if something else in my pocket accidentally pressed a button on my remote. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they do prevent false signals, and I'm grateful that my station wagon's rear door does not open without my knowledge. I strongly advise you to purchase them.
These fit the key fobs for the 2018 Subaru Outback (at least the Limited and Touring models) and are exactly what I was looking for: A snug fit (though the silicon will stretch over time), some protection, and high visibility are all features. In person, the blue is a shade darker than the Amazon scans. The LED light that flashes when you press the buttons is even visible through a small hole on the com site. Because of the oval shape of the fob, it doesn't just slip on, but to say it's difficult to put on is an understatement. It might take 15 seconds instead of 5, but it's not a big deal. You can't get at the physical key without removing the cover, but how often is that necessary?.
For the price, this is an excellent cover. It appears to prevent the 'accidental' unlocking that so many people complain about when using key fobs. It's more difficult to unlock the glove box key. (Thus 4 instead of 5 stars) If you know where the release button is on the back (as shown in the photo), you can do it, but putting it back together is a bit of a challenge. To be fair, none of the other covers I've seen have a hole or a marker where the back release button is. It appears that making a small hole there would have been simple. I'll make the necessary changes to my own.
