The Deflector Plate in sizes XL/XXL is required.
Yes. However, in the beginning of January, I ordered a Rapid Box 26". In 2018, the box included this deflector plate. There's no guarantee that others will join you, but it's worth noting.

This is something that should come standard with the softbox. I'm not sure why it's sold separately. It greatly improves the light. Just take it.
I was relieved to discover that one of the two pieces I require for my Rapid Box was reasonably priced and could be delivered the next day. Bravo.
It's something that should just be included. It's difficult to justify $20 for a couple of stamped pieces of plastic and some mounting hardware, but it does a fantastic job of transforming the Rapid Box's light output into something more akin to a beauty dish. br>br>There are two different ways to mount the dish: Concave out or concave in is a term used to describe a shape that is concave in one direction I haven't really experimented with the differences, but I'm sure they're mostly in the edge feathering, especially if you don't use the front diffuser panel. If you're using a Rapid Box and you're getting too many hot spots across your skin, using this to ensure that all light hitting the subject is coming from the silver lining can improve the overall quality of your images significantly. br>br>I suppose the glass-and-metal-and-metal-and-metal-and-metal-and-met half- The full explanation could be that those who just want a simple softbox save a few bucks by not including it in the original product. *shrug*.
It works well. Because the small bolt is easily lost during breakdown/transport, I'd recommend putting a dab of super glue on it before unscrewing the plate bolt connector from the main shaft in the softbox.
It's simple to set up and ships quickly.
It was exactly what I was looking for, and it was simple to use. My only gripe is that the mounting screw does not have a finger grip texture, and I have to use a screwdriver or the back edge of a knife to loosen it. Other than that, everything is fine.
It's a perfect match for the Westcott diffuser. This is exactly what I needed. It works perfectly with the Westcott diffuser, and the only thing that could make it better is a second retention screw, as I'm sure I'll lose this one sooner or later.
If you don't use this for a beauty dish function, you'll only get about 75% of the functionality from your RapidBox . How great the light is, in fact, is amazing. Just enough highlights are added to portraits to give them a slight edge without being harsh.
