When used with a light camera, it will perform very well - even a Sony FS4 - without all the extra batteries and gear. However, if you have a camera over 10lbs it won't work well. It will wobble a lot or be difficult to operate if it weighs 12 lbs. A 4- was also awarded to me Foot extension, but the wobble of the wheel made it impossible to use it. In the past week, I bought a Proaim 3 The NexGen Dutch/Roll/Pan/Tilt Head is motorized and costs $1,224. The jib was supposed to be attached to the 00) but I could not figure out how to do that. It is too small for the holding plate of the jib, and too big for the holding plate that comes with the head. Thus, I have to either purchase another heavy-duty truck or remove my existing one My brand new head is up for sale or I would be willing to buy a duty jib.
It's not really a deal breaker, but there are two holes to work around. Despite being mounted on a pivot point, there is a lot of wobble at the pivot point and the mount is way too short. You should buy something else instead.
The swaying and bob of the camera are eliminated. Those are the ones to get.
There is no way to use it with RED cameras. A DSLR is the only option. This works only with cameras of that type.
Hence I bought the ProAm DVC200 Camera Crane/Jib on here along with the Stand. I was initially unsure if I needed it because the Crane works just fine with out it and it's reasonable price. Due to the fact that I knew when the full camera was added, I got it. You may have a LCD display, weights, and any audio gear hooked into it so that it can The differences between the two are subtle, but they do exist. Keeping the crane tight prevents it from moving a little bit more. The crane owner should consider buying this if he or she is going to purchase the crane.
The crane I thought I was getting is just a cable I thought I was getting the whole crane. There's something wrong with my eyes.
The unit is tricky to master when it comes to smooth moves. I use it with my DSLR rig (about 10 pounds), and I find it to be well built and sturdy. I wish it had a horizontal panning head, but I purchased it knowing it did not have one. This is only the second time I have used it. Look at this scene in my movie (my own film).
