After seeing a video on YouTube where this set was reviewed, I decided to purchase it. I only gave it four stars because some of the kit is completely useless; the foam divider, for example, was immediately discarded. You will not be disappointed if you approach this purchase with the understanding that not everything in the kit will be useful. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the chest harness, and to be fair, the entire kit costs less than the GoPro-branded chest harness. I've taken the chest harness on a number of motorcycle rides and have captured some incredible footage. So, if you go into this purchase knowing that the quality isn't perfect but that you'll get some mounts to help you get running with your GoPro, you won't be disappointed.
This is an excellent starter kit for GoPro users. There are a plethora of mounting options to inspire you. It's possible that this will be your only mounting kit. Components of high quality. I almost gave it 5 stars, but there are a couple of minor flaws that I noticed right away: br>br>1) Instead of a thumb screw, some of the articulating points require a wrench. Although the wrench is included, it's another thing to remember where a thumb screw would be useful. 2) The remote control's wrist strap does not function properly. The Velcro isn't set up correctly, so you have to twist the straps together to connect them, which would be inconvenient if I were going to use it. br>3) For the selfie stick and float stick, the wrist strap lanyards should be elastic. 4) The thumbscrew on the suction mount right under the camera mount does not have teeth, so I have to crank it down quite hard to immobilize that articulation. I'll be using it in my car as a dash cam, and it should be fine (and have a lower profile than many other dash cams). br>5) There is a non-slip surface on the head strap. One side of the headband has a slip surface, but the other side has a fabric overlap to fit the adjustment buckle. There must be non-alcoholic beverages available. Both sides of the piece should be slipped. br>6) The wrist strap is a little narrower than it appears in the product description, but it is depicted correctly in the product photos. br>br>Here are a few examples of things that stand out for me: br>br>1) The body harness is comfortable (though the elastic is a little tight, so I'm not sure it'll go over winter clothes)br>2) The suction mount is relatively low profile because there are only two articulating points, making it cleaner for a dash cam mount. The ability to suction is beneficial. br>3) The selfie stick is long and has a standard tripod mount screw, allowing it to be used with other cameras. br>4) The tripod adapters are useful for using standard camera equipment. br>5) The alligator clip has a strong spring and reassuring gripping teeth. br>br>Overall, I'd recommend this kit.
Yesterday, on the very FIRST DAY of using the Octopod Tripod, the weak metal screw SHEARED OFF COMPLETELY, causing the camera, complete with a brand new battery and a 256G Samsung Evo SD card, to FLY out onto the freeway, crushing my camera! Sadness : (I'd do anything to recoup the cost of my camera from this vendor. ) THIS IS NOT A PRODUCT THAT I RECOMMEND!.
Though I was able to figure out how to assemble most of the mounts, I still can't figure out how to use the strapped helmet mount properly. I would give this 5 stars if the instructions were more than a series of tiny photographs displaying which bits go together and the hopeful result. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be If you're using a helmet mount, you should use a strong glue to help it stick. This isn't necessarily due to a lack of strength in the provided tape, but rather to the mounting plate's inability to make complete contact with the helmet. There are a lot of holes. br>br>The components are great and appear to be of similar composition and quality as original GoPro equipment. br>br>I did this and it worked fine. br>br> The package is reasonably priced, and the carrying case is well constructed. With the above caveats in mind, I do recommend this product.
If you're not expecting much, this kit will suffice; however, keep in mind that you get what you pay for. If you're on the lookout for one, you've come to the right place. You'll be fine with one-piece, molded plastic clips, but anything made with multiple parts, such as the suction-cup dispenser, will be problematic. cup mount, also known as the "gorilla-style" mount pod"- It's almost worthless to hold a tripod, a selfie stick, or a yellow handle. Kit can be used for a variety of activities and will hold up to basic use, but anything with a moving part or a screw-in mechanism will require special attention. No matter how hard you try to screw down the hinges, the tightener will not withstand lateral g's. The gripping tripod's arms are made to look like they're made of many interlocking pieces, but they're made of foam. Rubber with a single piece of wire running up the center that will break if bent more than 10-fold to make it look like more expensive items 15 times. The grip of spring clips is quite strong. However, they are almost too powerful, and you can't use them on anything without destroying the finish. Overall, a bare minimum set of tools for a higher price than many other similar sets. Allowing the number of items to determine your decision is not a good idea. Many of the 61 items counted are things like individual adhesive pads, so keep that in mind when you're shopping. You'll be fine if you just want a good set of items to attach your GoPro to and won't be putting too much force on them; otherwise, invest in better-quality items. stuff I made.
