I would recommend avoiding this tray. Due to the way the balls are spindled at the top of each handle, this tray and handles are useless. Since the screws do not have a pin or detent to restrain them from spinning, cranking them down will not work. When you add arms and video lights, the body of the game does not remain in place since the balls rotate in the cage. This is the first time I've seen anything like it. The results were so unimpressive. There will be a return to me Don't do it!.
There is a plural in that. There are flaws. There is no restriction on how this ball will spin. When I removed the ball to tighten the screw that holds it in place, the screw was as tight as it could be. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get it to move. I did not see any movement from the right ball. There is also an issue with the tray being out of It set closer to my right hand by a couple of inches after I mounted it. It is even obvious from the advertisement picture that the mount is off center. The extra twenty dollars will be worth it to me if it is a dependable one. There is one more matter to address. It would be better to have a longer 1/4" screw holding the camera in place on the tray. Once the camera falls off, it only takes a few turns. I did the same thing as you. Please don't do the same. In a few days, I will return it.
The following is a major fault in the system In free-spinning balls, the balls do not stick together. Because of this, anything mounted to them will float in the water and it will be impossible to line up lights correctly. I would appreciate it if this problem could be fixed.
There is a sturdy feel to it, and it fits comfortably. Neither of the 1/4 screws as shown in the picture came with it, and with just one, it moves around a good deal. It is a bit disappointing that I have to order some separately, but other than that it is a great.
My purchase of the B Version was for the purpose of mounting strobes and video lights, and this tray can't fit strobes or video lights. It makes no sense to have the ball mounts spin in the handles, as other reviewers stated. As I was not able to secure the epoxy to the underside of the ball mount, I attempted to fix the problem by filling the hole with epoxy. This did not work as there is nothing for the epoxy to grip In addition, I had to use a dremel to open the misaligned holes where the handles attach to the tray. As a rule, I do not write reviews, but I spent way too much time on this piece of useless junk.
As of the moment, I just got it. If you don't change this then it is a 4 star report. There is no doubt that aluminum is a nice material and that the design is ergonomic and functional. However, the screws for adjustable length for the tray should be extended with nuts as well as washers to be secured from the back side. Aside from this, the left ball mount screws on top the handle appear to lack washers, while the right side is fully equiped with washers. Other than that, this is a great deal.
This was used for a GoPro setup with ultra light arms and light add-ons. A great product that is both durable and lightweight. The price was excellent for what you got.
Using this for my Hero4 with dive case, it worked perfectly.
