The situation is a little annoying to me. Originally I thought I was buying an object that could be used for taking photos. Unless otherwise noted, a remote control is not included with the stick in every picture. There was something I should have paid more attention to. Despite my lack of knowledge, I thought I knew what I was getting. There was a lack of quality in this stick, as it was more expensive than an official GoPro stick. I first lifted the stick in the air this way, and the base slipped off the stick. If I knew it didn't come with the ability to connect to my go pro, I would have spent the extra 10 bucks on an official go pro stick.

The currents in the ocean can be handled by this material. This pole is for my Hero 7 Go Pro, which I use to watch whales. My purpose in putting this pole in the ocean is to record humpback whales that swim under our boat or are close enough to be seen on Despite its calm appearance, the ocean is NOT calm. As I hang over the side of the boat, I am holding a pole in the water with the $700 camera at the end of it. Selfie sticks are usually not long enough to reach into the water from a boat's side. I was able to make excellent use of the pole during the strong current. Upon returning to shore, I heard an escapade about someone else's pole snapping and that they had lost the pole and their camera. THIS POLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! THE FOLLOWING IS A COPY PASTE FROM MY OWNER REVIEW OF ANOTHER BRAND Whenever I opened it for the first time. My first thought was, "Well this thing will not survive the sand in the beach", and I assumed it is as flimsy as ef. Although I'm sure it won't, I'm still holding on to my belief that it won't. Now that I have the SANDMARC 40", I am starting to describe how it works. The tank-like design makes it difficult to go anywhere. I like the quality almost as much as Manfrotto. The problem is! It opens and closes with one hand because of this simple and one handed operation. This is kinda cool to me. You can take this with you on the road. Basically, there's nothing more to it. The wristband's connection to the device has yet to be tested (I have no faith in it). It is light weight and portable compared to SANDMARC, as well as having If you intend to do an actual sport, such as swinging and hitting the water hard with a selfie stick as a light saber, then this is not the right sport for you. SANDMARC is the way to go. Keeping both was a good decision for me.
Since I don't like the locking mechanism that is removable, I won't mention it. Having to deal with it can sometimes be a pain.

Due to the differing opinions of several poles, I couldn't decide which one to get, so I decided to just go with the pole I liked the most, and I'm I used this one on Bonaire diving with my GoPro HeRo 4 Silver for a week and it worked perfectly. The extension length is good. If it were any shorter, I would have been unhappy. In order to remain far enough away from marine life without spooking it, as well as to get down into confined spaces where critters lived, I had to move to every inch of the room. Although I did have the camera loosen up on the end bracket a couple of times, I simply had to remember to put it on tight each time and it worked just fine. Extending and retracting worked fast and smoothly underwater and the locking mechanism worked flawlessly. There is only one thing that I would change about it, and that is to retract one more section so it can fit inside a BC pocket, but other than that,.
