Video is not something I use it for. I use it exclusively for photography. As a photographer, teacher, and YouTuber Hudson Henry recommended this fluid head to me, I became intrigued with it. This system is a little different from the old ones where the plate is inserted on either side of the head hole and is removed the same way by pressing the release button on the side. The new system places one side first at the top of the hole in the head and then slides down from there. A couple weeks ago, I put my new awesome video head on an old crappy tripod, and now I don't even feel like I have a crappy tripod any more! I love how smooth the action is.
