Change the Color Balance: When using an LED panel light, lighting gels can help to improve the image's color balance. Colored gels for use in lighting for film, video, photography, stage, theater, parties, and DJs.
Dimensions of the filter: three 74" x 2" is the size of the painting. 56”/9. 5cm x 6. 5cm
Warm Tip from Selens: Do not attach the gel filters to the modeling lamp because they will melt and the LED light will be lost.

Questions & Answers

On a sunny day, which would I use for outdoor portraits?

The answer that everyone despises is, "It depends." Use the CTO (color temperture orange) to simulate the warmer sunrise sunset color or to color balance tungsten and incandescent lighting with an in camera white balance shift if you want to turn the midday color to a sunset type light. You'd most likely be compensating for the blue light of open shade, simulating golden hour lighting, or color balancing tungsten, incandescent, or other color temperatures when shooting outdoor portraits. So, as I previously stated, "it depends."

Would these filters work with a GoPro to capture tropical underwater footage? I'm just not sure how plastic filters compare to paper filters. What are the advantages of using glass filters?

I'm not sure how well you'd be able to keep them attached.

Is it possible to bend the gel without damaging it?

Bendable to the extent that acetate is. If bent too far, it may break or leave a permanent mark.

Is it possible to use these to change the color of small LED spot lights?

The size of a small LED light will determine the price. Take the Viltrox RB 08, for example.

Selected User Reviews For Selens 20 Pieces Universal Gels Lighting Filter Kit for Camcorder LED Video Light, 3.74” x 2.56” Transparent Color Correction Lighting Film Plastic Sheets

For artistic portraits, this is a helpful tool
5/5

I've had the opportunity to use these filters on a couple of shoots now, and they're fantastic. Perhaps not the best quality, but you certainly get the best value for your money; after all, for only $11, you get a good amount of gels for your speedlite that are simple to use and transport. br>The gels themselves are simple to use. Simply position them in front of your speedlite and secure them with a rubber band. Colors can be mixed and matched to create a variety of effects. I like to use a variety of colors and light sources to create two different colors for each side of the portrait, which is particularly useful for creative portraits. br>The only complaint I have about the gels is the bag and rubber band that came with them. The bag barely holds the filters, and the velcro used to close it does not match, making it difficult to close properly. Because the rubber band isn't very elastic, it's difficult to use with one hand; however, regular rubber bands can easily solve this problem.

Make use of this to improve your photography abilities
4/5

With a minor flaw, this is an excellent product. Gels are an excellent product. Color theory is a set of guidelines for color mixing and the visual effects of a particular color combination in the visual arts. Colors can also be classified using the color wheel: There are three types of colors: primary, secondary, and tertiary. br>br>These gels can be used as primary, secondary, or tertiary. We can also deceive the camera. br>br> I sometimes use a CTO gel (color temperature orange) and set the white balance in the camera to 3200k (or close to florescent depending on the ambiance). At a 45-degree angle, the CTO flash will hit the subject's nose. Because of CTO, this typically results in a blue background with the original skin tone. It can also be accomplished in another way. br>br> By using CTB color temp blue and maintaining a color temperature of 10000k (or close to tungsten depending on sunlight and ambiance), a background with warmer color is created with no change in skin tone. br>br>Like this, we can experiment with a variety of colors because this product includes a variety of gels. I also use a green gel on my Godox flash with a zoom of 20mm and a power of 1/64 when there are a lot of trees and plants in the background. Because of the Gel, the greenery appears to be much greener to the eyes. br>br>Definitely worth the price. br>br>Flaws: The user experience isn't particularly good. It will take two minutes to remove one gel and replace it with another. If you need to change your flash positions, camera settings, or flash gels in the middle of a shoot, you should have an assistant with you. If you're using garryfong or any other type of diffuser, there's a major disadvantage. The rubber holder that they provide is quite substantial. With this rubber holder, diffusers and garryfong are nearly impossible to use. br>br>However, you must find your own path: Rubber bands, thin hair bands, and double-sided tapes are some of the tools I use. br>br>There are no boundaries to creativity. Thank you. br>br>.

The color range was nice, but the CTO gel was incorrect
4/5

These flash gels came in two sets, one for each of my two Yongnuo YN- I used 560 IV flashes because I needed a CTO gel to match my Nikon SB-600. In my outdoor shoots, I use 910's CTO gel (and the other colors may be useful for wedding reception dancing). When I tested the Selens full CTO gel, I was disappointed to discover that it was much more yellow than orange when compared to my SB-CTO gel. Nikon CTO filter 910 (as seen in the photo). However, after some trial and error, I discovered a Selens gel combination that produced a color that was very close to the Nikon CTO filter. The "Oklahoma Yellow" gel in combination with the 1/2 CTO gel proved to be the most effective. I tested it with both combinations to ensure that the colors remained consistent if I switched them around, and they did. The only other issue was that the color of the same gel differed noticeably between the two sets I received (see last photo). Aside from those two issues, the setup is good, and the rubber band is functional on my YN-100. SB- and 560 IVs Installing and swapping out gels is simple with the 910. Despite the two minor flaws in this product, I would still recommend it. br>br>Edit: Based on other reviews, it appears that the Oklahoma Yellow and Full CTO have been switched. I've switched them in my own set, despite the fact that it's difficult to tell (the colors on the info sheet aren't exactly reliable either). Even so, a 1 1/2 CTO gel would be required to match my Nikon Speedlight. It's not the end of the world, but it means I'll have to mount two gels. Also, I'm thinking about hole punching all of the gel information sheets so they're easier to keep track of, especially in the field.

I learned a lot from them
5/5

I had never used a flash gel before getting these, and I had never used one in my photography before. br>br>The design I like is that there are two rubber bands that go around the flash head, and you slip the gel right in between them; it's simple and convenient, especially for someone new to using gels on their flash unit. This does include a gel guide so you can tell which gel you're grabbing. br>br>If you've never used gel before, like me, you can learn a lot from YouTube to get the basics and then just start shooting. Taking photographs and learning from them is the best way to learn. To achieve the desired color, add more gels or just one gel. br>br>Overall, I'd suggest this flash gel set.

There's no way to go wrong with these! You know, I never thought I'd be the guy who started using these, but they're really great
5/5

br>It does, however, need to be a true orange shade; I had to mix a few yellows and one red to get it to work. br>It's also worth mentioning that little rubber band, which, despite appearing to be obstructive at first, is actually quite useful. It is something I use and enjoy. It's always attached to one of my flashes. br>br>The carrying case is a little confusing because the colors are in front of the indicated area, not behind it as you might expect, like a file folder. You have the option to re-submit your application at any time. Assemble them in the same way that I did. The quality is low, but the price is low, and they work amazingly well when you need to add a splash of color to bring something out in your shot. I'm thinking about getting a second one to double up on colors in case there are any more mix-ups. In the future, there will be a need for matching.
