You'd be surprised how much you can do with just a small reflector! This reflector is designed to work with the Godox AD-series of cameras. EC-200 (or, in my case, the EC-200 in my case) The bare bulb attachment is included with the 200 extension head. The bulb can then be left alone, a simple 30o grid can be added, or gels or diffusion material can be added (the kit came with two diffusion inserts to help dial things in). I mostly used the grid at WonderCon 2019 (because I was attempting to recreate the Avengers: Infinity War). I was able to add just a smidgeon of dramatic light thanks to the Endgame "Avenge the Fallen" posters. Once, I used the gels for a Spider-Man-themed project. Man cosplayer, as well as the diffusion material (which is primarily used to keep glitter off the bare bulb! All-inclusive br>br> All in all, the Cheetah Stands Colt 45 is the closest analogy I can come up with. The Colt 45 might have been slightly better (due to its larger size and depth), but it would have added to the bulk I didn't want to carry around with me. This is a great example of using the correct tool for the job.
The scoop reflector feels plasticky and like it could be broken easily, the ring that attaches gels is a bit of a wonky fit and feels like someone cut the center out of a tupperware lid, and the honeycomb cover doesn't QUITE fit right in the scoop, as it was built with two riveted pins and a tab for removal, which kind of circumvents the whole perf process.
For every flash, get one! The reflector is quite nice. It also comes with a few useful extras. Colored gels aren't something I use very often, but they're useful to have on hand. Both the grid and the diffuser work well. The diffuser produces light that is similar to but superior to that of a good speedlight. To mimic natural light, make it bigger, softer, and in a nice round shape. br>br>It's a no-brainer to get these little kits. Make sure you have one for each of your flashes!.
br>Now I have the ability to grid, defuse, and jell my little flash. I wish I had ordered it sooner because it is well made and I have no complaints.
It's compatible with both my AD200 and 360. The gels are adequate, and it appears to be as good as it can be for the price; there are no complaints.
It's of excellent quality and does exactly what it claims to do! And it accomplished exactly what I had hoped. I'd get another one without a doubt.
Although this is a great accessory, the quality isn't the best. After a few weeks, the plastic ring holding the grid and color discs in place broke. With some tape, I was able to repair it.
This gives the Godox AD200 flash more versatility without costing a fortune. It can be used as a reflector on its own or in conjunction with the gels and diffuser that come with it.
