The reason this is a good for me is because I love my Ice Light but sometimes I wish the light was more dramatic without covering my entire The job is done! This product even comes in a nice little bag with foam inside so that when you go to put it away, you do not need to worry about slamming anything into it and damaging it. You probably can damage it by crushing it because it isn't that thick, but the bag and foam it comes in give it a bit of extra padding. There is only one thing I dislike about these products and that is the price. It is Westcott, and pretty much everything that they make is far too expensive to start with. The Ice Light is the only product I will buy until another company comes out with something as suitable for daylight as it is.
In order to make the Ice Light useful, you must install the barn doors, unless you want to install (black) flags everywhere which defeats the purpose. I will say it again, if you buy an Ice Light, make sure you pick up.
I really like the way the Westcott Ice Light 2 is described. It helps tremendously later on to be able to direct the light coming from that light. I do a great deal of light painting with that light. For video, it quickly becomes a necessity since now you can utilize ice light, which before was basically the same light that was going everywhere, and directionalize it again. As far as I am concerned, it is a must-have. I will deduct one star for the following reason. The Ice Light line is very uncharacteristic of Westcott, except for the fact that it is available in the winter Although it is only $80, it is very flimsy and bends easily, even when it is kept tucked away and used. After only a few weeks of use, the integrity of the barn doors is greatly compromised, it is not built well, the screws you see in the center are now out of place, and it just doesn't seem like it will last In that respect, I have to say that is another overpriced thing from Westcott with a 10,000% markup. Westcott has always been a favorite of mine, but they really missed the mark with the pricing/build quality ratio on these Ice Lights.
This is a perfect fit for Ice Lights, which were specifically designed for them. If you have Ice Lights, you should get this. Nothing more to add. Highly recommended.

Control the light in an effective manner.
With the Ice Light Barn Doors, the Westcott Ice Light will look wonderful. Snapping them on with ease, but snug, they can be adjusted easily to control the diffuse lighting of the Ice Light. If these are such a necessity, then they should have included them as part of the Ice Light bundle instead of keeping the price low.
The quality of the video is terrible.
