After a week of use, the bolts broke and I had to replace them, then the glue that held the dry erase part together broke, the wood cracked after 20 clacks, and the magnet that held the ends together broke as well.
Dry erase markers are easy to remove and do not leave a stain. It comes highly recommended from me.
The plate is sturdy, but the clapper broke apart due to the screws. It was used for the first time in production today. It was only used for about 2 hours. Regrettably, this is the case. Although I liked the product, it did not perform as expected. It's out of the box, as you can see in the photos.
This has been extremely useful to me; however, the first week, a screw on the hinge came out. The glue holding the clapper part to the board weakened after about a week, and the whole thing fell apart; it's easy to fix with E6000 glue, but it's annoying to have happen while trying to film.
I would get some blue loctite right away and apply it to the small mounting nuts, which are so loose that a few claps will send them flying.
The item description stated that the text was engraved, but it is not; instead, it is silk screened onto the board, which wears off quickly in my experience. The sticks themselves aren't made of wood; they're made of plastic, and instead of the expected solid, satisfying "clack," they make an odd hollow sound. Although it appears to be suitable for use as a prop or decoration, I would not recommend it for actual use.
The thing was defoliated by the first clap. It needs to be better secured. Aside from that, it's a nice, light, and compact device; however, when it breaks while you're doing something important, it doesn't get high marks.
It isn't particularly sturdy, but it will suffice as a prop.
