Questions & Answers

In low light, would the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-FX800 be suitable for concerts?

As a result of my desire to have a point and shoot that works well in dim lighting, I purchased the Canon G7X in 2015. Until 12800, the ISO goes up to. It is wonderful to own a G7X! As a cruise ship performer, I have used it multiple times in the main theatre for concerts and shows. There was no flash allowed in the area, so friends told me not to take photos It doesn't matter what camera I use. I really like the way the photos turned out! The G7X has been updated to a newer version. It is well worth the money I spent on it.

Can the ISO level of a p mode camera be changed easily? Shooting in automatic is usually what I do, but I also like to change the ISO a lot! ?

I'm glad you asked. It's very simple.

Does it have a way to turn off the sound of the shutter?

It is possible to modify the Camera Sounds with the menu.

Does 4K video still lend itself to being extracted?

To capture the frames you want from the video, download it first and use Adobe's program to do it. A simple Google search will reveal Finding tutorials from a 4K video and how to extract them.

It is a great value at the price point due to its utility and functionality
5/5

Several years ago, I worked as a professional sports and ad agency photographer so I own a very high-end Canon DSLR and several (mostly telephoto) lenses. The size and weight of this setup just doesn't make it all that useful for everyday walking around. Additionally, I try to avoid using it in situations that might cause it to be damaged, such as fishing in saltwater while using a It is pocket sized, easy to use, features a great zoom for its size, shoots wonderful video in fairly dim light, and is reasonably priced so that in the event of damage I won't lose heart. Though it has auto focus, I find that center focus produces slightly better results. It works well both for still images as well as video, and I am pleasantly surprised with the video quality (except in really dim conditions). You already know that Canon's smartphone app is unintuitive and clunky, but once you get the hang of it it can be useful. This is all- All in all, it has major advantages over a cell phone camera and is as convenient as one. The book arrived in good time for me.

To go with your camera phone, do you need a high-resolution camera with a large zoom? Here are some of the good things I am* *br* The zoom factor is 40x - Those are some great pictures-- This is a good example of autofocus - A metal design that stands up to wear and tear* There is a selfie mode where you can flip the screen - I see a bright flash of light - Video of good quality - This is a good deal *br> The compact size and portability of this device - Connecting to a camera with an iOS app is a great feature-br- use - no snags - no problems The bad I am* *br* There was none

The Bottom Line
I just took this camera to Alaska (pics of glaciers in pictures) and it worked smoothly. My iPhone 8 Plus was not going to cut it on a cruise so I wanted something with more zoom. My SLR would have followed me on this trip, but since it is bulky I have not brought it on many trips. I can easily put this SX740 in my pocket since it is small and lightweight. Autofocus and zoom were both very effective on the photo shoot, so the outcome was good. As well as taking good pictures, the camera made good videos. Unlike most smartphones, it has a selfie mode, which flips your screen back up to let you see the picture you're Connecting the camera to an iOS device is also possible through the Canon Connect It was easy to connect to the camera and download the pictures I wanted to send right away. To sum it up, I'd recommend this Canon SX740 to complement your camera phone on.

A lot more could be done with 4k
3/5

The quality of Canon's construction is exceptional. The outdoor image quality is good during daylight, but it gets a little muddy in low light when video mode is engaged. There is that canon warm soft reddish hue to it. If you wish, you can adjust some of the settings to balance out the effects a bit. When it is dark indoors or under low lighting, it is more pronounced. I think the picture would look better in 4K. It is possible to bump up the sharpness setting in the settings menu, but 4k resolutions should be smooth and Several of the action cameras I own have better 4K quality. I am surprised at the quality of this 4K video. Video does not have the same sharpness and clarity as still photography. As the image stabilization improves, it's getting closer to gimbal-like stability, but it's still not quite there. While there is still some way to go, it appears to be It is a great microphone for an on-board device. It's easy to overlook audio when building a product. Audio quality is much better on this camera than on most. It doesn't sound hollow or tin can-like like many. If you are not more than arms length away, you do not need an external microphone. It is great to hear the sound. Despite the lack of an external mic input, the audio is so good that I don't think I'll ever need one. If I need a digital video recorder, I can always use one. Yet it would be nice to have a toilet so I can go to the washroom. A second thing we could have done was to make it splash-proof. This should be the case for all cameras. Despite zooming in, auto focus works well and there is no hunting. I am pretty satisfied with the face tracking as well. You must maintain a steady hand when taking photos - the slightest movement, such as pressing the shutter button, will produce blurred photos. There is an easy to use user interface and everything is adjusted smoothly. The interface is responsive and well-designed. There is a strong focus on zoom in this camera. shocked at how far the zoom can extend without any focusing issues. Here are five things a camera MUST have
1) Image Quality. I enjoyed the music somewhat, but it was rather soft and noisy and muddy in low lighting. 2) Quality of the audio signal. This would make a great onboard microphone. 3) Image Stabilization. I can see the gimbal getting closer and closer now. The external mic input is shown in Figure 4. Even though the onboard electronics are good, it is always nice to have something like this.
5) Waterproof. This has nothing to do with scuba diving, but I would enjoy not having to worry about rain spills or wet hands, etc.

Update The clarity and sharpness of the images improve drastically if the camera is set to the central focusing setting instead of face tracking. It will also help a lot if you turn the lighting optimizer down or off. A small bump in sharpness under the standard profile also helps a little. becomes more crisp and clear as opposed to being as soft and muted as it was before. I still struggle with the camera in low light and inside, but the amazing zoom, the image stabilization, and the onboard microphone always win me over. The zoom on this thing rivals the one on my Canon SX60HS. There are still several steps to go before 4k image quality is acceptable. A lot of cropping was done to it as well. You have to use it a lot more now. You will get a poorer image if you are not in well-lit conditions, such as when you are outside in the sun. They look red in the face. There is a focus hunt taking place in face tracking mode. In opposition to being in sunlight, I am finding it very annoying right now that the video quality is blurry and soft. It is likely that if I had it to do all over again, I would not purchase.

The best camera ever Posted an update
3/5

This is the best camera I have ever used. My butterfly picture wasn't entirely centered on it I was zoomed in close but not all the way! Macro images of the flower occupy the screen while the dark barn image shows a lamb. My other two cameras are heavy, so most of the time I carried the heavy ones with me. I wanted a small camera for the days when we walk a lot, and I didn't want to carry the big As a result, this is the right choice. It is still new to me so I have not explored all the features, but it was easy for me to connect it to my phone and share photos with my daughter. I were delighted that I'd been able to get such good pictures with this camera. But it has only been 9 months since I've been using it, and the shutter has been sticking (off and on), so I removed two stars from my original rating, as it should last longer.

I am disappointed
3/5

I'm not impressed so far with what this camera should be able to do properly, nor am I impressed by what other reviewers have to Although I am not a professional, I have taken photography classes and am knowledgeable about how to work in Photoshop and how to change Photos just don't seem to be as crisp as they ought to be. Lighting is an issue, and even though I haven't done a lot of photography outside yet, I'm certain outdoor photos would be better than indoor ones. Most of my videos and photos are focused on my son, who is a toddler. In the same lighting and setting, I took similar photos with an older Canon Elph at night. I took over 100 photos indoors. Compared to the Elph's photos, they are much clearer and more focused. When I played with the SX740, I changed all kinds of settings without much success. When I am trying to capture moments that last a short time, having the focus on is very important. In the event that it is not a good camera for indoor use I won't buy it. As well, I find it cumbersome to pop up the flash yourself before you need it. I agree with you that the audio for the video is very good, but the video is not as crisp as I would like. I am disappointed.
