In 2015, I purchased the Canon G7X because I was looking for a point and shoot that would perform well in low light. It is possible to set the ISO It is wonderful to own the G7X! The people at the resort told me I could not take photos due to the flash ban- It is not a problem for me. A new version of the G7X is available now. I have had good results with mine-worth every penny.

Having once done professional sports photography, I have a very high-end Canon DSLR and several (mostly telephoto) lenses, however that set up is just too big and too heavy to be all that useful for everyday walking around. In addition, I avoid using it in situations where it might become damaged, such as fishing from a small boat in salt water. This is all- Thank you so much. I really appreciate.
This device is compact and portable - The iOS camera app is good for connecting with the camera. Despite its simplicity, it has a couple of negatives Please note No
Reply I just took this camera to Alaska on a trip (pics of glaciers) and it worked fine. My iPhone 8 Plus was not enough zoom for a cruise, so I wanted something with more zoom. Since I haven't brought my SLR as much on trips since it's bulky, I would have brought my SLR. I can put the SX740 in my pocket because it is so small and lightweight. It was easy to focus and zoom on my photos, so I was able to take excellent photos. In addition to taking good photos, the camera also provided good videos. With the selfie mode, you can flip up the screen so that you can see the photos as you take them. In addition to Canon Connect, the app for your iOS device allows you to connect to the camera. It was easy to connect to the camera and I was able to download certain photos As a whole, I recommend this Canon SX740 as a great companion for your camera phone when you travel!.
The construction of this product is of Canon quality. When in video mode, the image looks a little grainy in low light but is quite good while outdoors in daylight. has that warm soft reddish tint that is characteristic of canon photography. Sharpness in 4k should be extremely sharp. In the settings menu, you can pump it up. Action cameras that have better 4k are some of my favorites. I'm surprised at how bad this is at 4K. video mode is not as sharp and clear as the picture mode is. While the image stabilization is getting closer to being like a gimbal, it is still not quite there. There is still a ways to go but it's a pretty good start. I am impressed with the quality of audio from the in-board It has a good audio output in comparison to most cameras. It does not sound hollow or tin can-like. A mic connected to an external device is not required when at arms length. Whenever I want to record something, I can simply use my Another thing they should have done was make sure it was A camera should be able to do this. Regardless of how zoomed in you are, auto focus works well. I think the tracking of faces is pretty good as well. It is important to hold your camera steady while taking a picture. The slightest movement while pressing the shutter button will result in a blurry image. It has an easy to use UI, which allows all the adjustments to be made with ease. An interface that is responsive. A strong point of the camera is its zoom. My wife and I were astonished at how far you can zoom with no focusing issues.
Presenting 5 things a great camera must have 1) Image Quality. I find this to be good, but it is rather noisy, muddy, and soft indoors. • 2) The audio quality. Image stabilization was 3) implemented. As you get closer to the gimbal, the feeling grows stronger. There is also a microphone input on the external device. The onboard is at least a pretty good thing, but having it is always nice.
5) Waterproof. Obviously we aren't talking about scuba diving here, but it would be great to not need to worry about rain, spills, wet hands, etc. *Update If the camera is set to center focus instead of face tracking, the focus is much sharper and clearer. You should set the lighting optimizer to low or off if you have one. In addition to bumping up the sharpness under the standard profile, it also helps. There is much more clarity in the image and it is not so soft and muggy. This camera's zoom rivals the Canon SX60HS superzoom but it still struggles a bit in low light indoors etc. The image stabilization and onboard microphone still win me over though. It's close to my Canon SX60HS superzoom in this regard. There is still an image quality gap of several steps behind that of 4K. A great deal of the image has been cropped in. There's an increasing amount of frustration when using it. There is too much red on the faces. It is starting to hunt for focus in the face tracking mode. In my opinion, the main problem is the soft blurry video quality everywhere except when being outside in the This is probably not something I would buy again if I had my time again.
It is one of my favorite cameras. I took the photo of the flower in macro mode and took the picture of the lamb Several of my cameras are heavy and I did not want to carry my two heavy cameras on days when we are walking a lot and I would not want to deal with carrying them. Exactly what I was looking for. The app has not yet been fully explored by me, but I did link it to my phone, so I could push photos to it and share them with my daughter. My camera has only been in the hands of me for nine months - and its shutter is sticking when I turn it on (off and on). I am removing two stars from my initial rating because it should last much longer.
Though I'm not a professional photographer, I have taken photography classes and have knowledge of how to use and change the settings of cameras. There is just a lack of clarity in the photos. It can be tricky with the lighting, and though I haven't done any photos outside, I am certain they are better than indoor photos. It is mainly for my toddler son that I want to capture photos and videos. Over a hundred photos were taken indoors this evening with my older Canon Elph camera in the same lighting and setting. Photos taken by Elph are clearer and more focused than those by Ash. In my experiments with the SX740 I have changed all kinds of settings with no result. This is a very persnickety focus, and I cannot have it while taking pictures of moments that last a short time. In the event that the camera isn't going to work well indoors, I won't be able to use it. In addition, I find it cumbersome what you have to do to pop up the flash as soon as you need it. I also feel that the video is not as crisp as it should be. The audio is good, but the video is not. I am disappointed.
