It is unfortunate that this unit does not come with a helmet mount. Furthermore, I have yet to watch a customer mount the optic to a helmet successfully. While I've presumed it has been done, I have not so far found an end to the cycle We'd like to thank everyone who shared their success stories.

For $300, it is an excellent device
5/5

The device is well worth the $300 price tag since I worked at a law enforcement agency for twenty years and have experience with high security devices A surveillance operation can cost several thousand dollars if NVG and thermal systems are to be employed. Initially, I had very low expectations for this device, but it blew me away when I used

On 4, there is very good clarity. On the lowest setting of 5x, the grain is minimal. On the highest setting of 9x, it becomes somewhat grainy. In my experience, medium power is the best choice as the low setting is weak and the high setting results in a white wash throughout the scene. In addition to the unit being very light weight, it is also very comfortable in the hand. The small external battery pack is attached with 3m tape at the bottom of the unit. I can run several nights at 3-hours per night with this set up The nightly sleep time should be four hours. In terms of remote viewing, I use the WiFi remote view on my mobile phone and I am By installing Stream Vision on your phone and mounting the unit on a tripod outside, it will be able to automatically connect to the internet. feature is useful because it is equipped with a motion sensor alarm, so if you are watching an area, you will be alerted (sound or vibration) if something moves upon it. This device performed like a $10k device, not something I expected from a $300 device. It does not perform like a 10k device, but you WILL be able to see in the dark with B oat - (

They were sent back to me
3/5

Consider saving your pennies for an NVD from Generation 3. An NVD of this quality performed very well in a dark room without In that environment, there was a decent amount of detail. A black and white image of what was in the room was all I could make out of the IR illuminator with only the slightest hint of red light. In contrast, the outside world was quite different. About 50 yards or so is the maximum distance I could get a decent image. The coal cellar was in the dark at that point. Considering its size and portability, the device was extremely useful. A really good carrying case was included with the package. Unfortunately, I took no time to learn how to use the video or photo capabilities of the unit. As a result of the returned item, I am in need of a unit that can provide me with a clear image outdoors for at least 100 yards Sadly, this unit simply isn't up to the task. A new moon was in the sky with cloud cover, and all the houses nearby supplied ambient light. In order to see houses across fields about 500 yards away, I looked across fields. It was impossible for me to see anything. As soon as I pulled out my Steiner 7x50 Mil-spec binoculars, the view became brighter. The Gen 3 provides similar conditions, allowing me to see across these same fields as if I were in It's nice that the IR illuminator is completely invisible at 20 or so yards, because you don't need to reveal your position, but what good is that in reality if you are unable to clearly see the target at 100 yards? Technology such as this is new and a good start, but it still has a long way to go before it can catch up with If you want to take photos and videos out of reach of about 50 yards or indoors in complete darkness, then this is a good choice However, if you want to see stuff further away, this is not the unit for you.

The unit was a good purchase for the price
4/5

I purchased it to replace one that went bad. It is one of the better instruments I have come across in my experience of digital night vision. Several of my friends got it for me for that reason. I use it to look for hogs at night so that I do not have to lift a heavy rifle. Thus far, I have only played with this one and have not actually used it to hunt with. In my experience, the controls are pretty intuitive, and it works well with Enloope rechargeable batteries. I turned the IR illuminator on high and turned the camera on. As it turned out, it ran exactly 3 hours. As far as battery life goes, that's pretty good compared to some other units I've owned in the past. In terms of complaints, the only ones I have are that it does not provide a color image when using the camera in sunlight and the image in the viewfinder could use a bit more The hog spotter seems to be useful for spotting hogs living at night up to a couple hundred yards when used with the included illuminator, and up to 500 yards with an additional Using it in the field is something I'm most looking forward to.

Waste of time and money
3/5

It is not a pleasant view. Past things are impossible for you to see. In this case, you cannot see the entire field if a stick is in your line of vision. It has been returned to me. Due to the fact that the box wasn't in the original packaging, they will not refund me. We sell garbage products and we sell garbage companies.
