There's not as much magnification as one of those expensive microscopes a hospital uses, but I think my boys will be able to explore a whole new world with this microscope. This particular microscope's greatest selling point was that you didn't need to use your cell phone as the viewer, which was one of the reasons I picked it. It is common to see this in a lot of microscopes! Then, when your kids are in school, you are out of touch with your friends, family, news, etc. There's a viewer on here that belongs to a microscope only. Additionally, it is rechargeable, which means you don't have to plug it in to use it! Back of the monitor is the 18640 battery, a rechargeable battery I love for its durability and how long it lasts compared to some cell phones.
