For a basic microscope that lacks fine focus, this is quite impressive! Even at higher magnifications, I found the optics to be of high quality. A highlight of this kit is the number of accessories it comes with, such as stains and blank slides so that you can create There could have been a bit more uniformity in the layout and a bit more on the middle of the slides, since it gets a bit cumbersome to have to move it around the stage to see everything, but for the price I wouldn't expect anything more impressive. (Please keep in mind that if you are getting this kit for little kids, the slides are made out of real glass, so adult supervision is necessary. Great for introducing kids.
The following review is for the Swift Compound Kids Microscope SW50 with 40X-magnification I am amazed by the magnification of this microscope, 400X. In the 1970s, when the last microscope we bought was purchased, microscopes had already advanced considerably. It is not only a good microscope, but it comes with a generous accessory kit, too. What's missing is a decent guide for beginners, explaining how to use the accessories, what to look for, and so on, however there is a manual with warranty information (5 years), which is rather generic in nature. This model does not take into account some of the factors mentioned. The lack of a guide with a beginner / student microscope is a major omission in what is otherwise an
Since this microscope only comes with a 10x eyepiece, not the 25x eyepiece that is typical of most microscopes, there is no 25x eyepiece. A 40x and a 100x power gives a relatively excellent image. Even at 400x power, the image is still good, but there is a very narrow depth of field. A "course" focus knob is all that is found on this microscope, there is not an extra A lack of fine focus isn't an issue in this case, to my surprise. There is no slack evident in the focus knob and it rotates tightly and smoothly. It is not difficult to get a sharp image on my camera. This microscope produces a clear image and I have not noticed any drifting over time, which can cause problems. I feel like it's a more expensive instrument after using it for a while. Here are a few things I thought were interesting to check out Microfiber cloth, currency, telephone screen, coarse ground black pepper, seasoning, stubble from my electric razor, coarse ground black pepper. To collect samples, I have not yet ventured outside, but plan to do so soon. The price was $33 and I would definitely buy it I would say it's worth at least $50.
I can't wait to give it to him and to spark his interest in Inside the package, I found everything to be of a high standard. Because it is a coarse focus, they won't be able to see every last detail, but I think they'll mostly have fun pretending that they are scientists while still young. Kits like this one give them a good starting kit with a large number of accessories. Can't wait to see how they react!.
I have to admit that the images are a bit blurry at first, but they become clear and crisp over time. At first, I ran into too much light. However, I placed a piece of paper over it, and things did not occur. It was no longer necessary for me to use the paper once my eyes adjusted. When batteries are not available, you can use a piece of white paper like a mirror to reflect the light up into the specimen or attach a piece of brite sun instead. As well as bright field, this thing does good dark field.
I was pleasantly surprised! I exceeded my The product was purchased for my 9 year old, so I didn't expect it to be a high-end Fun) to do together. You will find some prepared slides, as well as blank ones for you to design your own slides. Having dual lighting options (top or bottom) is very handy for viewing different materials at different angles.
Having sent it back to my son, I understand that he was not happy with it.
The slide tops of some of the slides were also broken. There are a lot of them who Initially, my daughter was excited to receive this, but as soon as she found out about the broken glass and lack of direction, her enthusiasm changed quickly.
I expected instructions to come with the microscope, but it did not. When I posted a question, the company representative said to contact Amazon customer service. Customer service was not able to help me with this issue because both of the phone numbers I was given said that "500 was unavailable". I find it a little annoying because it comes with so many things we don't know how to handle. We can't return the item at the moment because my son needs it for his science class at virtual school.
