The microscope that I bought (Sept 2015) was intended for use at home The material I purchased is being used in a science class for which I am grateful. My new microscope meets all my requirements and it is certainly more accurate than anything else I have used in my classroom. In my work, I have use of microscopes all day, and this one is excellent for entry level usage. Due to its single eyepiece, this unit is extremely simple to use. The perfect gift for my children. It is generally metal, feels very solid, and has a good clear view. My favorite way to view it is through the included eyepiece but you can also just put it on your computer or a monitor for friends and family to enjoy as well.
