This monopod was purchased for a specific job that required it to function as a freestanding tripod. Clearly, it won't be as stable as a full-sized tripod, but this project wouldn't have allowed me to use something so bulky and time-consuming to set up. br>I own both a Manfrotto and a Benro video monopod, and each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. This unit appealed to me because of its larger locking base, which worked flawlessly. Its modularity is a nice bonus, as is the fact that you can use the base as an impromptu hi-hat or tabletop tripod on its own. It's a little more fiddly than a lever locking monopod, and the built-in panning isn't a fluid mechanism, so you'll want to use a fluid pan head. However, if modularity and base width are important to you, I believe this is an excellent purchase. If you're looking for a one-stop shop for everything, this is the place to go If a good video monopod with the ability to lock it down so it can stand on its own isn't a priority for you, I'd look at the other brands mentioned above. br>In any case, it's a fantastic deal that's well-priced. made.
Very good. I was looking for a walking stick that could also be used as a cane. When traveling light, use a monopod for spontaneous photography. I paid a little more than the cheapest alternatives in the hopes of finding a stick that would actually assist me in maintaining balance on shaky ground. br>br>I was immediately impressed by the weight and solidity of the monopod when it arrived. A few weeks later, I was clambering around the Maine coast's Giant's Steps (photo) - A great way to put the monopod to the test. Since then, I've used it several times for both walking and photography, and I've remained a satisfied customer.
I ordered this to take with me on my trip, and I'm glad I did. With my mounted fluid head, it's very light and feels very sturdy. I'm confident it'll be a new favorite tool for me because it'll be so simple to use.
Pros: Construction is made of lightweight aluminum. The legs can easily be extended. Attachment that can be modified. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The design is flimsy. The pole buckles at each joint when fully extended, making it extremely unsteady. A tall person will find that shortening the extension is ineffective.
Excellent product.
This monopod has a great balance and is extremely light.
I like how light it is. It's just that I'm hoping it'll be able to handle my Sony 200-series camera. 600 lens. This weekend, I'm going to put it to the test.
This product comes at a great price, and I'm very pleased with it.
