These cables worked great with my laser cutter once I arranged the pins correctly, and it appears to be 24 gauge wire. They didn't fit my needs. I simply removed the pins from one connector and rearranged them in the correct order for my motors.
Hello,br>On both ends of this cable are JST duPont style female connectors, one of which is a four conductor two. Most common 3D printer stepper motor driver terminations are compatible with a 5mm spacing center to center. A 6 position 2 is found on the other end. 0mm center-to-center spacing for use with the most common 3D printer and laser engraver stepper motors. It has a XoXXoX pin layout, with "X" denoting a conductor position and "o" denoting the absence of a conductor. There are 1 meter of them, which is very close to the stated length. There are also 2 meter lengths available from a number of vendors. Overall, I thought these were a good value and arrived quickly in Arizona. I hope this has been of assistance. As a buyer, I noticed this and had some difficulty rewiring things, but it's also true that some steppers use different wiring pinouts on the stepper side. It's fairly simple to locate the coils on the stepper (google it) and rewire as needed by slipping out the pin and then moving them as needed (note that it can also be used to manually (vs. Change the stepper's direction of movement in software. This is exactly what I did, and it was quite simple.

Good day, Amazonians! br>I'm just throwing in my $0. 02 These cables have a number 02! These were purchased to replace a damaged and insufficiently long cable used to convert my printer to a direct drive configuration. The cables are extremely long, which may come in handy if you want to take the controller outside of an enclosure. The green and black wires on the 6 pin side of the cable must, however, be reversed. I bent the plastic retainer back and switched the cables with a very thin metal spudger. Each cable took only 5 seconds to install. People who give one-star reviews should be able to test their ideas before putting them into practice. After all, you're working on a 3D printer, which is already a complicated beast, and these cables could be for something else entirely. Who can say? Anyways. I've finished my rant.
The cables are well-constructed, and the connectors at the ends are well-assembled. Just double-check that the crossover wires match your motor; I didn't notice it at first, but the wires are "crossed over" differently than my original wires. Rather than being A, B, or A-, you can be A, B, or A-. , B- It was an A, an A-, an A-, an A-, an A-, , B+, B- I used a sewing needle to remove the pins from the plug and reposition them in the "correct" position for my motors.
After dealing with an extension after converting my Ender3 to a direct drive and discovering that the stock wires/pins were very shoddy, I really needed and appreciated the extra length. The need for a new extruder cable was demonstrated by the extruder motor oscillating rapidly while the gantry went through its motions, resulting in no plastic being pushed through. New cable, and it prints like a new machine! Hopefully, most people who tinker with 3D printers have the knowledge and tools to perform a simple task like testing and swapping pins, or they should probably find another hobby.
The pins in the plugs should be arranged; these are "generic" motor cables that should be checked and possibly re-wired. Pins are pinned to meet the needs of each individual. Because not all motors are wired in the same way, rewiring is a simple fix. Place the pins in the connectors in the correct order. The wires are thick gauge, and the pins are securely fastened. The people who are complaining are probably expecting "plug and play," which may or may not be the case depending on the wiring of your stepper motor. I liked them so much that I ordered two more packs to replace the motor wires on my AM8 printer.
I used the new cables for the first time this month. Three of the four initial cables were defective! br>br>I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong with my extruder, and three bad cables in a row sent me in all the wrong directions, causing extra downtime while trying to print medical supplies for a local hospital. br>br>I intend to replace the current good cable with a new one that is not from this batch. Buy these cables instead! br>br>.
The wires that came with my Eleksmaker laser etching toy were too short, but they work fine with a little effort. I had to swap a few wires on the plug that goes into the stepper, but that's easy to do with a pin to lift up the little plastic tab that holds the wire in place. The wire is a fraction of an inch thinner (1. a difference of 3 mm vs. a difference of one mm 4 mm), implying that the insulation isn't as thick or that the wire is smaller - However, they work perfectly for the small steppers that come with the laser etcher.
In the harness, some wires have been reversed. Although it is a simple fix, it is inconvenient. Aside from that, they're fine.
After switching to direct drive, I needed a longer replacement cable. br>As others have mentioned, the black and green wires must be swapped. For others to use as a reference, I've included a photo of the correct wire position AFTER swapping. Please keep in mind that this is a view of the motor and connection from the output shaft's side.
