Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with and/or will it work on an older Celestron Nexstar GPS 11"?

From the 1980s until the present, Celestron has used the same hole pattern. So, yes, that shouldn't be an issue. Also, I use it for my CPC 11 edge, my EVO 8 HD, my NexStar SE, as well as a

If you use this wedge is there anything you need to change Can you tell me how to use this What will happen when the new angle is recognized?

In my mind, I would have said that the NexStar Evolution would not work with a wedge in equatorial mode, There is no unique alignment needed, just a different form According to the NexStar manual, when the telescope has been aligned with both stars, the display will read Alignment Success. Now that you've found your first object, you can move onto the next one. As a result, the telescope will track the object equatorially, moving in just one direction to keep it central in the field of view this will prevent the object from rotating. Tracking such as this is suitable for astronomical imaging". In any case, it appears to be working.

Can there be a more portable and practical wedge for the Celestron NextStar 6SE and one which is perhaps less expensive?

It used to be possible to get a smaller wedge for the 6SE, but I'm not sure if they still make that. Celestron is a good place to check. You can find out more by contacting us.

If I use only a digital SLR for photography, would this be a worthwhile addition to my CPC 800xLT?

For longer exposures, yes, if you want to stay longer than 45 seconds. In combination with a DSLR like the Canon T2i (I use a venerable Canon T2i myself) and some processing software like Backyard EOS and PixInsight, this wedge is a fantastic addition to any

The CPC HD Heavy Duty Wedge has been installed and used
5/5

Two days after putting in my order, I received the wedge in perfect condition. In less than 20 minutes, the product can be put to use. It requires minimal assembly with no problems. Despite its good build quality, the wedgle never does anything beyond what it is designed to accomplish and that is to convert an alt-azimuth mount telescope into an equatorial mount telescope. When doing long exposure imaging, the whole purpose is to eliminate field rotation. This wedge is placed on a tripod head and attached to it by 3 cap screws, and thus makes securing it very easy. Two possible orientations are available during installation of the tripod head, one of them is A triangular face is visible on the top of the Celestron tripod. One of the triangle's points should be oriented toward the rear of the wedge when placing the this way, the wedge will be secured on the tripod during installation and won't come off before the 3 cap screws are inserted. If the other orientation is used (with the flat side of the triangle facing the back of the wedge), the wedge will fall off the head prior to the screws being seated.

Put the C- in There is a striking difference in ergonomics between keeping the 11 scope on the wedge and keeping it on alt/azimuth mode. At first it may seem a bit difficult, but you'll quickly find out the proper technique to do it, and it will become second nature to you. I'm very impressed with the accuracy of the adjustments to align the pole star. You did a great job. In the equatorial mode, performance is superb! I love In my first series of video images of Jupiter, I have tried to show the landscapes of the planet in various ways. There was a low altitude of the planet, so the resolution did not meet expectations. I was able to obtain some detail, however, from a series of decently executed 20 second video clips and a bit of Massaging in Registax. Attached you will find the attachment.
I love the swivel. I'm so glad I bought it. The product is very solid and well engineered, heavy duty and well built.

With no doubt, this is quality at its best
5/5

It is very heavy duty and will stand up to any challenge. In short, this is exceptional quality at its best. Its heavy duty and will easily handle a CPC series telescope with no issues. A scope an inch and a half long I have placed on mine does not strain it. The mount is rock solid and gives you plenty of room to set up your scope for ideal Twenty-five pounds is the weight of the machine. It is only the extra weight that I dislike. It's easy if you've got a son who is several feet tall and can easily lift the tripod, wedge, and scope all at once (125 lbs). All I have to do is watch as he does In order to be able to shoot astrophotography, you must have this wedge to have the scope tracking This is the right thing to do!.

I am heavy, I am Having responsibilities
5/5

By implementing this wedge, we put the "heavy" into heavyweights Having responsibilities. While the construction is different from the Meade design, it's better in the sense that you can make finer adjustments, and while the scope is set you can adjust the elevation as well An azimuth that can be changed while being set up but cannot be changed The opportunity to stay up to date on the scope is huge. In order to use this wedge, you will need a heavy-duty drill A tripod of heavy duty to be used. With the center screw changed, I was able to use this wedge on my Meade tripod. For only a few cents, it can be done The wedge costs $50 and takes just 10 minutes to make. If you need one, you'll have to pay for it, but it will be worth the.

We expect the same high level of quality from Celestron
5/5

It was important to me that this wedge met my expectations because I trust Celestron Telescopes and Accessories. If you are the "like me"" type of astrophotographer or even if you are a seasoned night sky photographer, this wedge is perfect for you. As the last reviewer noted, this wedge is heavy and you should have an extra heavy tripod to help hold Prior to receiving the product, I watched videos and was able to assemble and mount it with little effort, and since I also had a CPC tripod with a Nexstar on it, mounting the optics sideways to it was no problem. I like the quality of this product and it's convenient to set the date. The two are RA and DR. A feature I particularly appreciated was the hand-control hooks on either side of the wedge, as well as the bubble level on This order arrived earlier than expected, and I want to commend Amazon for making purchasing a pleasant experience.

This is excellent
5/5

If you have a HD CPX 11, buy this accessory for use with it. The Nexstar 8 also works with it, but I use it also with it. I love the design of this product. It's a heavy duty product that's really easy to use and very durable. This heavy and sturdy sculpture is very impressive. You should definitely take a look at it if you are interested in astrophotography. This is a professionally designed product. It's built to last. It has a very Presis feel. Easy to place on the tripod and serves as a platform for remote control of the telescope and camera. It is the tripod's weight that gives it stability.

I was able to assemble the product easily and it arrived on time
5/5

I was able to assemble the product easily and it arrived on time. I found this device to be quite useful in replacing an older Celestron wedge I had been using for 15 years It has been a long time coming and is a huge.

There is nothing light about this wedge
5/5

It is heavy and robust. Once you set this wedge up, it's really heavy and robust. Once I've set it up, it won't move. Polar alignment has not yet been done with my telescope, even after I tested it out with the entire scope. The latitude adjustment was the only thing I needed to make!.
