Yes, everything will be fine; in fact, you will enjoy it.
While it's most likely a perfect fit for a 6" Schmidt-style rifle, I use this with my Celestron Omni XLT 150 Newtonian and a Cassegrain telescopt. Two of the three tabs on the back of the filter were cut off, which gave it a slight modification. The remaining tab will then register the filter within the tube, and the velcro straps will keep the filter securely in place. (You will most likely be unable to fit all three tabs into your telescope tube if you use all three tabs.) ) Make sure your finderscope caps are on - It's possible that you'll lose your hair all of a sudden!
Not sure if it's made for SCT, but according to Celestrons' website, the filter diameters are 184mm externally and 174mm internally, so if you measure the outer diameter and it's between them, it should fit. However, it's designed for Celestron SCT telescopes, not refractors. It's possible that you'll have to look for one that was made specifically for that model.
It is packaged in a fairly sturdy cardboard box.

The solar filter on this Celestron Eclipsmart solar filter has peeled away from the frame for the second time since I bought it. When this happened the first time, I assumed it was just bad luck that I got a faulty filter. Celestron's poor craftsmanship and quality control are evident the second time. Now I need to figure out how to secure the filter in the frame again. I understand that these things happen, and that there is a simple fix, but it shouldn't be happening on a filter that is two months old.
Simply put this bad boy on and start doing the things your mother forbade you from doing. Use a telescope to look at the Sun! How cool is it that you'll be able to look at the Sun without becoming blind? Ok, it's just some Mylar and a plastic frame, but it's the right kind of Mylar, and the plastic frame (along with Velcro) keeps it from falling off. There's plenty to see on the Sun even if there's no eclipse in your area.
Unfortunately, it is too large to be seen through my telescope. I can still use it, and I've had a lot of fun with it. With it, I was able to detect sun spots. I strongly advise you to get one that fits your scope because the last thing you want is for the filter to fall off while you're looking through your eyepiece at the sun. That would be a disaster. It's bad for a 600-pound twinkie.
" There has been a significant reduction in the amount of sunlight. It securely fits my Celestron 6 SE. The only disadvantage is that when I remove the strip, the "velcro" pads that serve as a failsafe against the filter falling off frequently pull the OTA off.
I didn't notice any heat, and the lighting was excellent and comfortable to look at. This is a solar filter that I highly recommend. It's a fantastic item.
Instead of Baader white tones, use orange tones. To begin, this is a fantastic solar filter. Make sure your viewfinder has a solar filter, such as the Orion 50mm filter. br>br>I used it this past weekend in - The temperature is 5 degrees Fahrenheit, and the wind is blowing. The use of packing tape and velcro straps ensured that viewing and imaging were both safe.
It works well with my Celestron 6se and came at a reasonable price.
It fits the telescope perfectly and does an excellent job of filtering the light so that viewing the sun through the'scope is a real pleasure!!.
