It was impossible to repair the plastic casing of an old Stellarvue diagonal after I dropped it. As a result, I ordered this one and so far it has been very satisfactory. The piece is made of metal, and it is very well constructed and finished. Using a Celestron C5 (1250 mm focal length) for a small scope, I use it for erect-image observation and bird watching during the daytime. At the magnification I use, the images are sharp and clear - I do not go beyond 100x It might not be worth my time and effort to perform a star test at higher powers, but this diagonal looks so promising that they might survive. At the lowest magnification I get on my C5 is 32mm eyepiece with 39x magnification, and the images are as sharp and vibrant as they possibly can *I would buy this again for the price and I think it's excellent value for the money.
The 45 degree prism (mirror) that comes with this price is excellent. For me, this is one of the best products Svbony has put on the market. There is a great deal of quality in this angle, resulting in an almost perfect transmission of this incoming image to the Using a refractor with a 45 degree angle, it will be useful in certain viewing positions and angles. It is a little uncomfortable when viewed from lower angles. Despite its low price, it is a great product. Many thanks to Svbony for this.
What was described as well made is what it is. The quality is excellent. I found it changes my back focus more than I am comfortable with on my finder scope.
A diagonal such as this is designed to work well. Clear view of the earth is seen through the telescope. I find Angle meets my needs with the smaller scope I use it with. It was cumbersome to do the 90 degree on this diagonal, but the 45 degree works for me better.
The plastic is good quality for sure, but it loses a star because of.
While this diagonal has a very clean mirror and is very effective for correcting the image in a refractor telescope, it seems to significantly change the focal range in my telescope, which means my focus does not have enough inward travel for observing distant objects. It is possible that your mileage will Besides that, the quality of build is excellent considering how much it costs.
It has changed the original diagonal of my telescope, and the new diagonal provides more light input as well as a different angle of observation. However, I do find that it shows some aberration at the edges of the red and blue bands, which should be expected with a refractor.
