An eyepiece has a focal length less than one One quarter inch! In this eyepiece, there is only a 3/8" depth of entry. It's smaller when you do that Bored it out but did not finish! Please make sure that the replacement is done.

The eyepieces are 25" in diameter. There is no need to worry about poor quality with this diagonal. The quality of the image is good enough to see the moon's craters and some distant objects in the sky.
