How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

The image is erecting using a BAK4 prism with an anti-glare coating Surface that reflects light.
The prism is highly accurate and reflects a great deal of light.
The optical fibers are internally matte blackened and threaded to prevent any stray light reflections from the inside.
A 25" adapter with a brass compression ring is
It is made entirely from aluminum, is black anodized, and is smooth on the outside. For a few telescopes, there might be a problem focusing because of the light path. When this happens, please contact us for assistance.

Questions & Answers

Do you recommend this prism for use with catadioptric reflectors (like those from Celestron Nextar)?

The answer is yes. The Schmidt Cassegrains and the Maksutov-Petersen System In both horizontal and vertical directions, cassegrains and refractors present the image in a way that is corrected by a prism diagonal. Make sure that your visual back accepts diagonal images of 2 inches. It is possible to purchase a 2 inch visual back from Highpoint Scientific if you do not have one. If a Newtonian reflector is used, an image cannot be corrected by a prism diagonal. Regardless, you should use the diagonal of the mirror to view astronomical objects. With a 6 inch catadioptric and a good quality prism diagonal, a 6 inch spotting scope can offer a spectacular view of the terrestrial world.

Selected User Reviews For Astromania 2" 45-Degree Erecting Prism Diagonal for Telescope

Over 60x, there appears to be an error
4/5

The diagonal is good during the day and the aperture is decent. In 21 Ethos, there is no noticable vignetting, but in 41 Pan, there is. It works well until 60x, at which point there is a noticeable amount of chromatic aberration, which is not noticeable The use of the above is uncommon during the day As a planetarium viewing experience, I do not recommend it. By thinking along this diagonal rather than having a 90 degree mirror diagonal, one can view the target better while adjusting the scope in order to hit moving targets more quickly. As well as being more beneficial for horizontal and downward viewing, diagonals don't give as much contrast. There are two models for the 2-D An adapter with a 25" diameter is recessed to make it easier to install a 1" cable. Focus is achieved in 25 eyepieces As a result of a mirror diagonal, focal points are pushed out further. In this case, the recess interferes with the ability to secure hybrid 2 and 1 eyepieces. Due to the recess, it can take barrels up to 25". For those hybrid barrel eyepieces, you may want to consider a flat top adaptor, or be careful not to damage them.

We wish you a great summer! After spending several weeks looking for a used WO, Astromania, etc
5/5

2" 45 degree erecting prism diagonal, I finally came across one. Astromart leads me to think I've found a used one, but, well, it's just not in the condition I'm looking for for my collection, and he wants $145 for it. This is not true! As I was looking, I came across the Astromania unit being marketed on I look at it, and it really is a William Optics unit, and the quality of the construction is very good. When I took the eyepiece out and started watching distant terrestrial objects through my TV I quickly realized they were unreachable My score came in at 85, which I was thrilled about! What's even more compelling is that I bought the diagonal new for just $15 more than the incredible deal I found for the extremely well-priced diagonal It is recommended to try out the Used Units offered by Astromart that you can find on their website. We're sure to impress you!.

I love the fact that I can use my existing data
5/5

This adapter allows me to use my existing 2" eyepieces to observe terrestrial objects. This seems to be a good product. While I wouldn't use it for astronomical objects, it works well for views of the moon and Earth on a terrestrial scale.

I like it
3/5

The product is suitable for photography but not bought this item from Amazon, but had to return it after discovering the item was not compatible with my Vixen VMC200L telescope (also from I'm sure you know this! Good design and very good craftsmanship go into the construction of this product. This is not just a bunch of The Astromania products I intend to purchase are also available online. I'm sure you know this! VMC200L fails to achieve proper astronomical focus due to the significant optical path that is introduced. This allows you to achieve a better focus and closer, more terrestrial views. I think of the Caveat Emptor. Other telescopes might also be able to provide focus. I'm sure you know this! An optical marvel, the prism appears to be designed by Amici (with a full aperture). In referring to "full aperture", I am referring to both paths being They each convey a half of the same Some may find this design unattractive but it works quite well when used Typical of astronomy (I used a Williams Optics refractor for this test), an edge of the prism introduces, vertically, a significant diffraction spike with the result that each star appears to have a vertical line across it. This is a sentence fragment from the original " With terrestrial views, it is difficult (totally impossible for me) to detect that spike. This is a sentence fragment from the original " It is possible to minimize the spike when Astromania uses a larger prism,* but the prism would be enormous. It would easily be twice the size it is now.
Besides two of its own spikes, the VMC200L has its own optical design, which allows two to be inserted into the VMC200L. Although it is a minor controversy here, it is worth noting that the Hubble Space Telescope does the same thing. The spike that was produced by the prism just happens to line up with one of the spikes in the spike matrix. Last but not least, I would like to point out It was so easy to return items on Amazon (I think this was an Amazon Prime purchase) that it confounded me a bit. Despite the fact that shipping is included, I expected to pay for it. There was no cost for it. The restocking fee was something I wasn't expecting to have to pay. That's not what I did. This is five out of five stars.
