This is an excellent, well-built luminaire with an exceptional light output. In some cases, I use this with a monolight, but I've also used this with a Neewer flash more often. It is not uncommon for me to shoot without the diffuser, though I usually have one. In one review, it was stated that a monolight would need to be used in order to power the As far as I know, that is not what I have experienced. The umbrella light stand should be placed 38 inches from the face of the subject when using the Neewer. A full power setting is A power of 1/2 is the same as a power of A 6 is 1/4 power, a 4 is 1/4 power. 1/8 power = f2 for 0,1/8 power for 1. An average-sized living room with one white wall and a white ceiling, three wooden panels and a gray carpet floor was measured using a Sekonic L-shaped laser. A 308S with an ISO of 100 and 1/250 shutter speed was used. By setting the Neewer at 1/8 and measuring output along the plane of the umbrella's edge, f7 is measured. The center is 1 and the fifth is 5. At the edge of the grid, there are 6 points. This is nearly one third of a stop at zero, so it might be the same as the shot-out distance There is a wide variance in shots taken with The Studio Pro F064-I used for my second test appears to be okay This monolight weighs 200 grams. Power levels range from 1 to 5 Tenths of a six divided into six. As an example, here is my result using the same setup as above (without the The L6 factor is equal to 13. The values of L5 and 0 are the same. The first number is 0, the fourth number is 6. The third level of the equation is equal to three squares. The L1 value is equal to the F2. There is a repeatability to higher levels, but there is a variance of 1/3 stop at the lowest level. A method for measuring the light fall-off In a left to right direction When F13 is set at its highest setting level, it Printed 18" to the left/right of the nose, to a scale of 11f, with a fall off of 1/3 stop (F11). The 0th at +- 2 This model has a nose that measures 27". Quite a bit of performance from a lightweight umbrella and monolight for a reasonable price. Measurements were taken with the diffuser off for all of the above measurements. It is likely that the diffuser will absorb at least a stop (maybe a bit more) of light when it's used. My experience with the Neewer is that I have taken head shots both with and without the diffuser. It is likely that you will need to shoot the Neewer at its most powerful setting with a slow kit lens and diffuser. In terms of hot spots, the diffuser's main purpose seems to be to tame them. Your judgment is the only one that can determine whether giving up some brightness is worth it. As a whole, I am happy with the umbrella and Photographers should find it difficult to be disappointed with the results. In my experience, this Impact 7' model could not fit in any standard-sized room when compared to a larger (gigantic) umbrella that I bought and returned. The sweet spot of the Impact umbrella is seven feet tall. the umbrella was several feet from me and I wanted to shoot a group several feet away, I had to notice the moonlight. I would order a silver umbrella with a lot more light output, perhaps two stops if I shot groups quite often.
The sizing of the modifier is great. This white umbrella makes my portraits look incredibly soft. I use the diffuser cover with it. Despite its small size, the umbrella is very detailed and of excellent quality. It's possible to cover a silver umbrella with the diffuser fabric, but it's not as magic as a white umbrella with a The umbrellas I use for weddings outside do not go well with wind, however five-foot ones work fine A beefy stand won't be affected by a wind speed of 10 mph.
Light that is really soft and broad. A ProFoto D1 and an iPad 2 were used for this shot.
This umbrella is the most wonderful I have ever owned, strong, stylish and beautiful. It emits a wonderful light and it's HUGE! That's great! That product is amazing, thank you Impact for it. I am so happy with it.
It will become a window if you want a modifier to do that. Because of its size it is so nice and easy to use with a cheap strobe. Good quality - I like it. I was able to easily smash and flip the umbrella because the ribs are protected with plastic and the material is thick enough to handle my clumsy fumbling.
There is a lot of space under this umbrella! My light fit easily in this box and was simple to install. The information I was looking for was right here ).
As a result of its size, it is very inconvenient to move around. Overall, this is a wonderful piece of material that offers a great value for the money for someone who is beginning.
It is lightweight for its size, easy to store, and to use, and when used with the diffuser, provides fantastic soft light for portrait photography or any other purpose.
