Smaller rigs cannot use this
5/5

On my XT4, I wanted it to be mounted with a battery pack, small rig cage, as well as There was too much of a good thing here, and it was overkill I wasn't able to do what I needed to do. So I went ahead and got a I saved $400 that way and I am so glad I did.

This is a great value for the money
5/5

The price is similar to other brands, so you'll know this is a good deal. Compared to its more expensive competitors, it even offers some advantages. If you turn the focus wheel with this gadget, you won't encounter the delay that is common when you do so. There are no screws to lose since the gears run in real time. The disks are connected with magnets, so there are no moving parts. Almost all popular cameras can be used with it. Despite its low cost, the construction is quite There is no doubt that your money is well spent. This is a product I highly recommend. Your review has been read and I am so grateful to you for taking part. It is my wish that the information I provided helps ease your decision.

Easily pull focus with this quiet and smooth focus puller
5/5

In addition, I now understand why so many people like this product so much!
There are no apps, no remote, and no batteries. This is simply a premium manual focus puller that is reliable and true. Among the items A focus puller is used. This focus puller comes with an 8 mod gear, Friction gear, 2 standard marking discs, Hard stop disks, Allen key, and installation instructions. * *Before you buy
You will need a 15mm rod to attach this As you can see, I used the Nikon Z50 to take the photos and film the video. Various Geekoto products (rectangular tripod, without ballhead). I'm Smallrig Among the components are the 15mm railblock rod clamp, the camera base plate, and the 12" aluminum alloy rods. If you do not use all the items you bring, you will need to pick up a small pouch which you will store Pulling focus is easy with this tool. It snaps onto one 15mm Rail with a quick twist of the built-in In order to hook the focus puller arm to your lens, you'll need to bend it
Now you can test the focus puller as it has the right amount of tension. You are now ready to use it.
Make the necessary adjustments. Please see my photos for my setups.

Disc
Discs can be taken out and swapped in a matter of On the focus puller there is a tab, while on the disc itself there is a notch. Using this technique will ensure that the disc snaps on when you line it up. For cine lenses, a two-sided standard marking disc is necessary. Here's a tip You can mark your focus points using a dry erase marker, then remove them later using a microfiber towel. A Hard Stop Disc is designed for use with DSLR lenses. To set your focus points, you turn small silver knobs. It is possible to loosen by twisting, and then to tighten by twisting.
Picker points will stop when they reach the top of the focusing pulley. There are two gears for you to choose from. This is *br. FRICTION gear consists of the 8 MOD Adding or removing a gear is as easy as twisting the silver center. Whether you are facing forward or facing backward. Engineering of that caliber was thoughtful. The Nikon kit lens I used with the worked great. I had a Viltrox with a FRICTION gear, and it worked with MOD This feels like it's going to last for a long time.
The focus puller is very quiet as well. I have attached a short video as well. I hope you found this.

The greatest system I have ever used for follow focus
5/5

With more and more professional video projects, I discovered that I needed to be able to control focus manually. In the beginning, much like many others who are seeking their first follow focus system, I was a bit shocked at how much it costs. It is not cheap to buy these systems! Due to my modest budget at the time, I went for a Tilta mini follow focus system for $100 I thought would be a very good choice. It is a good follow focus system, but has a big flaw that so many budget follow focus systems have, which is the The gear kicks in when you start or stop turning the focus wheel and there is a slight delay before the focus dial on the lens moves. The end or beginning of my focus pull can become useless due to this, and if you're timing your focus pull in conjunction with a camera movement, things can get really crooked. Take the Wooden Camera Zip Focus for a test drive. In order to understand the Wooden system let's compare it with the issues I highlighted earlier. It is gratifying to report that the Wood Zip doesn't slop at all. There are none! I start turning the focus wheel and the gears begin to turn instantly with no play whatsoever in their movement. I have always found this system to be very accurate in the focus pulls I have performed with it. There will be no more missed opportunities. This is a very important issue, and I am not going to minimize its importance. There has been some level of slop in the system of every follow focus I have used under $200, including units from Tilta, Fotga, Edelkrone and Ikan. was even one system that was more expensive than the Wooden Zip and still had a little slop to it. It is my understanding that what Wooden did to achieve this minimal amount of slop was to create a belt drive system that was carried out inside the housing, rather than using As gears are added to a system like this, give/slop is introduced in more places. A total of three disk drives are included in the system. Marking disks and a hard stop disk are included in this package. There was one feature in this program that I liked I was able to change where the witness mark (the little tab where your adjustable hard stops end) was located. This just makes my life easier when I'm trying to set up a different configuration. You can easily remove the previous disk by pulling the magnet and attach the next disk, which will also attach securely to the next. components to take apart. This is great for switching from a traditional lens where I want the hard stop disk to a traditional cine lens with just a marking disk without removing whatever I've already installed. Speaking of traditional lenses, Wooden also includes a friction gear. In short, as long as the focus on your lens is not too difficult to move, this friction wheel actually works quite This system is lightweight with its single 15mm rode attachment and I like it very much. My typical rig for video shoots is a GH5S when I want to have a lightweight camera. A follow focus like this is ideal for this setup. On this system, the rotation points are two There is one where the rod goes under the unit and another where the unit goes against the rod. By using this method, you can line up your camera body on your rig for perfect follow focus alignment. If you need to change a lens you can rotate it away from the pivot point on the follow focus unit itself, rather than at where the rail meets the unit. The lens change is therefore much quicker and easier with this method. In the same way as most follow focus systems, you have an attachment point for tools like a focus whip on the side. It would be fair to say that the Wooden Zip is the most affordable follow focus available at this price point. It's actually quite an interesting place for them to be in. Two major areas of focus are found in most strategy-following systems Generally, there are two types of sub-200s those that cost under $200 and those that cost over $1000. It fits nicely in the middle of these two options. Before you go out and spend $1,000 on something like the Shape follow focus, if you have a mirrorless setup or a medium size cine camera I recommend that you first check out the Wooden zip system.
